BJ's always seems to be a busy restaurant... Not sure if it's the location or the Jeremiah Red beer (extremely good beer that's brewed by BJ's) that pulls the customers in? I'm sure it isn't the consistently slow service or the wrong orders they turn out that pull in customers . I gave this place a three because of the beer.

Enjoying a meal at this BJ's is all dependent on choosing wisely off of the wildly inconsistent menu. (For some reason, I have found different BJ's locations to vary quite a bit in terms of food quality and experience.) The chicken strips and buffalo chicken wings- great The pizza's- inconsistent, looks better than it tastes The sandwiches- I loved the California chicken sandwich, but the sourdough burger was awful. The pazzokies- hell yeah. At least their is plenty of good beer flowing to help ease the pain if you order one of the many misses on the menu...

I frequent this place because I like it - prices are reasonable, food is usually great - haven't had a bad meal yet.. and if it's your birthday, they give you a mini Kamikazi dessert (or whatever it's called) Don't worry, they won't embarrass you with a song and dance. Fish and chips are good.. and I know my F+Cs. Jemmy-red is my fave. Would also recommend the meatloaf. Admittedly, steaks appear to be at high-end prices so I haven't really tried since I can make a pretty mean steak at home. Service is exceptional. Though we always go to the bar area where there always seems to be seating despite it being busy.

Let me start by saying that I used to be a regular customer here in the late 90s and early 2000s. Let me also say that I will never be a customer here again. Four of us showed up last night on a Saturday night to eat dinner. It was a celebratory dinner because one of us got a new job. We ordered a large pizza, a flatbread, and a salad. The food took 45 minutes to arrive. I understand Saturday's can be a little bit busy so we can certainly give that part a pass. When the food arrived, the pizza and the flatbread were lukewarm. If you do the math, the pizza would be the last thing to come out of the oven and the flatbread shortly before that. This would indicate to me that our food just sat there for God knows how long. We couldn't find the waitress for a while because she was somewhere out of view. Once we called her over, we advised her of the problem with our food. She said that she would bring the manager over. In the meantime, she offered us dinner rolls to hold us over. The manager apologized when she arrived and said that the pizza would only take about 10 minutes to cook again. We decided that seeing as we were having some good conversation we would wait another 10 minutes to bring up the pizza and the flatbread. The server brought two rolls for our party of four and said to us that they did not have any other rolls ready. As you could've guessed by now, these rolls were stale. It took another 45 to 50 minutes to receive our pizza. Once the pizza and flatbread arrived, they screwed up the toppings on the pizza. Obviously at this point in our in 45 minutes into our supposedly all we decided to take the pizza to go. My wife ate by herself for most of this meal and they decided wisely to comp us for the food. The server came by again and told us the manager would come visit us before we left. 15 minutes later the manager had not come by and we left. Before I wrote this review, I noticed that other people have had the same experience with food not making it out to the restaurant in an expeditious fashion. I sure hope the owners or the managers read this review, because people will be dropping like flies if they were treated like we were. Never again at this location. I have had many good experiences at other BJ's in the past. Unfortunately will never go back to this one again. There are several things wrong with this restaurant in our experience. The first thing is that once our food took to long to make, someone should've expedited our order. Once our food was up, the manager should've delivered the food and/or made sure that the order was correct. For the server to offer us dinner rolls was inappropriate, because we were waiting for pizza not rolls. Maybe offer an appetizer. It is pretty obvious that the server let our food sit the first time and did not check it the second time. The manager not showing up the second time was just unsatisfactory. Just to make sure that BJ's corporate offices are aware of this, I am cutting and pasting.

Lots of choices on the menu. Large restaurant and can be noisy sometimes. Have eaten here on a number of occasions over the years when I go to visit my aunt. Prices are reasonable. Service was good on our latest visit.

The last couple of times I've been here my group has gotten the same thing: build your own pizza, root beer, and a pizookie. Their pizza is damn good. We got pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese. Not much else to say about it other than it hits the spot. I generally dislike soda, but their root beer is great. Served in a chilled glass, it isn't too carbonated or overly sweet. Mmm, semi-baked cookie with ice cream on top that should be spelled pazookie and not pizookie, mmm. You can't go to BJ's without getting one, it just feels wrong. The service at this location has been mostly good except for our last time here. Our female server had attitude, rarely checked on us, and walked away from us mid-sentence (was it your "week"?). Not worth complaining to a manager or anything, but irritating nonetheless. We'll probably go back to this location, we'll just avoid Ms. Crabby Pants.

I ate during lunch and ordered one of the lunch specials. The serving was kind of on the "meager" side. It had great flavor, it just left me hungry. The iced tea was mostly melted ice or just too much water. Contrary to other reviews I've read here, the service I got was decent, 4 out of 5 stars. What made the visit worth it was the dessert, absolutely awesome. BTW, the lunch special prices are very good but as I said, not very filling. Best feature: The atmosphere is really nice and the place is sparkling clean.

So I ordered 4 large deep dish pizzas to go for a get together. i decided on BJs at the request of my friends. they said they wanted the good stuff! the four pizzas ordered were as follows.... the Great white BJs favorite (the works) Vegetarian Jalapeno and peperoni long story short, if i did it again i would go with one of the traditional take out pizza establishments. the Great white was great! the jalapeno and peperoni was OK but the jalapenos were not hot. probably would have given BJs 2 1/2 stars if that was the end of order. unfortunately it wasnt the end of the order. the veggie and the works had big chunky tomatoes that were too big and dirty. when i say dirty i mean that they did not taste right. usually I'm not that critical but i think that YELP is bringing the picky out of me that i did not know existed. My previous BJ's experience have been good but today the Good Stuff just didnt cut it!!

This BJ's gets 3 stars solely because of the pizza and beer. If you like deep-dish pizza and microbrews, it's a good place to eat with friends. However, the service is usually poor (with the occasional exception). I almost always order the same thing: mediterranean pizza with no chicken and feta on the side. I'm pleasantly surprised when they get it right, since it usually either has the toppings I didn't want and/or is missing the ones I did want. One time, they screwed up my order twice in a row. And, since it's so busy, the waiters always seem frantic or impatient.

I remember about 5 years ago eating at the one in Huntington Beach and it was someone's birthday, probably mine. I remember it was a pleasant visit and I remember the food being good. Went there a couple of weeks back with my aunt and father. Ordered a medium pizza, Chicago-style, of course. The appetizers were sweet onion fries and garlic bread. At first, I didn't think the sweet onion fries were that much, hence the garlic bread. Then, the fries showed up. It was this huge lump of..... fried stuff! It looked like golden-brown fried goodness with the seeming appearance of a bowl's worth of spaghetti with 2 types of dipping sauces. I knew that alone was too much for 3 people. Imagine that and the garlic bread. Good thing that was only 4 meager slices of bread the size of regular-sized hot dog bun halves. So be careful about how abundant these appetizers per order. From what I can surmise, the price is a hint on how much volume you have to deal with. The pizza, for all of you guys who have never been to this place, you can order the pizza half and half. The types of pizza are too hard to resist. During this most recent visit, the medium pizza is half Great White and half Buffalo Chicken. The great white is a white sauce with various meats, I don't remember what they were. The Buffalo chicken was just that: red, moderately spicy and swimming in poultry goodness. Both had sauces that you can dip the pizza slices in, but, being Chicago-style pizzas, you have to cut them first and then dip them in with forks. These are not the NY-style pizzas nor is this Pizza Hut or Domino's. The Buffalo Chicken dip was ranch, to soften the spicy blow to your gustatory senses. The Great white, I think, was a red sauce, something like marinara. From a previous visit, two things to try for those who've never tried or never been here: the Sweet Ham Pizza. Just oodles and oodles of porcine goodness piled on top of this pizza. Good stuff. The other is the Pizookie. It's a saucer-sized choco-chip cookie served as if it was a personal pizza and a dessert at the same time. I'm sure this oh-so-goodness is served a la mode. Come to think of it, I think that visit to the BJ's in HB I mentioned previously? I think that was my b-day and they served this to me for free since I was one year closer to death. Yes folks, I never really got why we celebrate birthdays in the first place. But hey, I can't complain about the free dessert. The one thing you also need to remember about this place is the fact that this place is also a microbrewery. I am not much of a drinker of beer, I rather have cocktails or wine. But at one point, I think it was that trip to BJ's in HB, I had the sampler of each of the beers they had. They were decent to good. If you are a connoisseur of beer, you might want to check it out and see if this places tickles your palate. The atmosphere of the place was fairly decent. It's reminiscent of an upscale sports bar, especially with a dozen TV screens (not the actual number) flashing various sports and distracting patrons from the conversations that they're trying to have. Our waiter, he was nice, but seemingly distracted. I got a vibe from him that he couldn't wait to leave our table to proceed to the next one. I wondered why for about a couple of minutes. So if you are a pizza fan, especially those gut-busting Chicago-style ones, this is a place to try. If you plan to write a review of this place, there is so much to take in, so take notes and pics. I didn't. I should've. I will next time.

I love BJs pizza; it's thick, it's gooey and this sounds sexual so I'll stop. But their service really pissed me off the other day. I called 20 mins ahead to order a pizza and a salad to-go. When I got there, I walked up to the pickup counter where the manager stood and had a 5 minute conversation with one of his employees, all the while, not glancing, not even thinking about looking at me. Way to run a joint! He must have graduated from the Michael Scott School of Mismanagement. Finally, another girl showed up after two employees of BJs, again one was the freaking manager, decided to speak to me. Then, she all distracted, passes me off to another guy that shows up. I tell him my name, all the while burning on the inside. I pay cash, take my change and he doesn't give me a receipt. Meanwhile, another customer shows up, a regular, and he receives a WARM WELCOME from the manager that ignored me for the first 5 minutes I was standing there. **Blood Pressure Rising, Fists Curling Up** So this guy, this customer, has an $80 order (to my piddily $23) and the manager tells the employees around him to take care of this guy and to help him get his food quick. The other employees kind of ignore him (funny) and continue processing the other checks they have. So finally, 5 minutes after I paid, 10 minutes after I showed up, I ask the guy that I paid if the food on the counter that I noticed has been sitting there since I mother-freaking arrived, is my food? He turns around, reads the receipts and hands me the food. WOW! Thanks for making me wait, letting my food get cold, disrespecting me and making sure that I never go to a BJs again. I hope someone from corporate reads this and gives that a-hole manager a spanking. Good luck with those soon-to-be in your future hair plugs. Sidenote: Some of this anger was not BJs fault. I awkwardly sat on my left testicle earlier in the day.

If you had to classify the experience at BJ's, I think nothing captures it more than dining for families with 2 kids, the dog, and the white picket fence living in their safe commercialized suburb like OC. If you are still having trouble relating or understanding, its basically like your Chili's or TGI Fridays. The food is usually ranges from decent to good but nothing to really surprise you... other than the surprise of getting a dish that happens to be better than the Chili's or TGI Fridays version of it. I know what some people are going to say "well they have there own selection of beer." Kudos to them. I definitely appreciate them trying to distinguish themselves from the other corporate chains but in the end they are just another large cookie cutter corporation (NYSE: BJRI) offering the same tired stuff. However, we will definitely get to the beer in the review. We get seated and I order a beer... the stout to be exact. My first impressions of it is average. Nothing special. I drink a lot of beer (understatement of the century) from different countries and as far as stouts go is is average and in the grand scheme of beer, I would say its below average. I can see people from Midwest or people who only drink domestic beers liking it more than I did. We order our food: * Crispy Calamari - to be absolutely honest, this had to have been the better calamari I have had in a while. it still had a long way to go before even getting close to the best calamari, but it was pretty good * Spinach and Artichoke Dip - its spinach and artichoke dip... not much to say... its average. * BJ's Favorite Pizza - nothing outstanding it was about average. I have had better pizza else where. After a few more orders of drinks, I noticed the beer getting worse and worse tasting. I don't think it was the beers fault, but rather the beer wasn't cold enough and the glasses they came in weren't cold/chilled either. All beer must be sent out cold and in cold glasses according to the specific beer being served. It wasn't in this case and it actually made me sick to my stomach. I just stop drinking it. I am guessing the beer was cold but the glasses were hot from just being washed and it evened the temperature to almost room temperature. I had someone else try it and it wasn't just me. In the end, the food was average and the beer started out decent, but quickly went downhill from there. It's just about what you would expect from chain restaurant... average food, average service, and nothing to write home about.

BJ's is a fun place to come with friends, but I think the prices are a little high for the quality of food you get. I love the house beers, especially the Jeremiah Red! And of course, the pazookie is a must have whenever you visit. You could definitely do worse than BJ's, but it's not the end all be all.

BJ's is one of my favorite restaurants! :) I haven't gotten anything here that I haven't liked, but i'm one of those people who likes to get the same thing over and over again at restaurants because they're so good. BJ's also makes their own beers and they're pretty good. Avocado Egg Rolls- I love avocados and this is a really good appetizer. The sauce they give you to pour on the egg rolls can be spicy if you don't have a very low tolerance, but it's still good. Grilled Chicken Potato- By far my favorite thing on the menu. I would say that at least 75% of the time I go to BJ's, I get this potato. I recently started asking for blackened chicken instead of grilled chicken and it made this so good. The only thing I don't like about this is that sometimes the skin of the baked potato is overcooked. The skin is the best part of the potato for you and I like it, just not when it's overcooked. BJ's Favorite Pizza- deep dish pizza that's basically a supreme pizza. I'm not huge on fancy pizzas with toppings that normally don't go on pizza. This is the only pizza I get here lol. Turkey Cobb Sandwich- I LOVE this sandwich. They give just the right amount of everything. I dislike sandwiches that have too much or something, like too much turkey or too much bacon, even though i'm sure others would disagree with that. If you like potato wedges, be sure to get wedge cut fries! And last but most certainly not least, a pizookie! A pizookie is a cookie that's fresh from the oven and topped with scoops of ice cream. My favorite is the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. Definitely a must try if you've never had one. Now while I absolutely love the food here, I'm only giving 4 stars because of the service. I usually come here during non-peak hours but service has usually been slow. Everytime I come between 9-11pm, it's always slow, but it's probably because it's so late. During peak hours, it's usually pretty good.

I have been eating at this BJ's for years although it wasn't the first BJ's that I ever had the pleasure of eating at. A friend introduced me to one down in San Diego, which was good-but kind of small and slow. Ever since then I have been eating at this one and have always enjoyed good service. Occasionally the food has taken a while to get to our table but it has never been unreasonable. On those occasions it was usually very busy and the staff still checked in with us to let us know when we should be expecting our food. The only time that it was really a problem, the manager came to our table and handled it very well. We ended up leaving with our whole meal compensated for (and a pizookie on the house!) Favorite thing here? The BBQ Beef Sandwich! The pizza is amazing but I've fallen in love with this sandwich and have never looked back. Also for you pizookie lovers: if you haven't tried the Oreo pizookie, you're really missing out (=

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! I Ordered the chicken quesadilla . After waiting 40 minutes for our food I opened the quesadilla and there wasn't even any chicken in two of the four pieces!!!!!! The ones with the chicken were so skimpy it wouldn't even equal 2 oz of chicken. This is the third time I have given them a chance to get it right! Every time the wait is a least 30-40 minutes and then the food is either cold, poorly made or both! Then the wait staff screws up your bill! Be careful if you pay cash!! Go to Woody's or Kings at least you get what you pay for!

i wasnt wowed. but, am i expecting too much to be wowed by a BJs? only came here because it was convenient. what i ate: - lunch special: 1/2 loaded chili baked potato + garden salad: this was pretty standard. exactly what i expected, and it was just right for the price. though, id probably never want to pay full price (dinner price) for either) - loaded veggie baked potato: i thought it was a LOADED VEGGIE baked potato and all we got was maybe 1/4 cup of veggies. it was mostly cheese and sauce. im not surprised that america is obese. pros: - QUICK: we let our server know that we only had an hour for lunch, and the kitchen was awesome in sending our meal out within minutes! our meal actually came out before our server even had a chance to bring us our drinks. - lunch prices: the lunch menu has pretty good meals for cheap! i mean decent considering its a sit down restaurant. - beer: i do like their beer! esp their hef and red. - willing to fix the problem: when we commented on the lack of veggies on our loaded veggie baked potato, she did bring out a bowl of veggies cons: - busy: we went during lunch and it was PACKED and busy! we sat at the bar and our server was no where to be found. difficult to flag her down for anything, but i dont think it was on purpose. would i come again? probably not.

Sat in the bar area because the dining room had a wait. Server must have been busy because we kept having to ask other servers for things we needed like when we needed to order our food! Tried something new on the menu-ahi tuna salad. Big mistake. It was terrible and the tuna was not fresh at all. Others in my group had pasta, burgers, etc and everything else was fine.

BJ's pizza. Oh the grease comes right off the deep dish slices of heaven. They have a greasy crunch outside and soft tasty inside. That's a good pizza. You must try BJ's root beer. I don't know what flavors they put in it, but it's delicious. Warning: the waiter/waitress might forget to tell you it's non-refillable, so don't order 5 of them and then wonder why it cost so much. Another mentionable is their pizookie. I prefer to make my own at home, but theirs is still good.

BJs seems like they are trying to be like the Cheesecake Factory. A very extensive menu which means there is something for everyone. They don't have cheesecake desserts but of course, they have Pazooki. Must be eaten there though. Not the kind of thing that can be taken "to go." Our service was decent when we went. It took a long time to get our food but we had a larger group (about 12-13 of us). The manager gave us 3 Pazookis because our food took so long but that was only because one of our members asked them to do it for us. Still, it was nice to get for free. Would definitely recommend. Lots on the menu and the food was good too.

Avoid BJ's Laguna Hills - Worst In The Chain! I've never seen a more poorly managed restaurant of this caliber. The food is actually pretty good (we like the menu variety), but the service ranges from good to flat out horrific (in the gutter terrible), and there's no way to tell which service you're going to get on any given day. Statistically, it's straight down the middle (50% good, 50% gutter service). My wife and I came by for a meal after church one Sunday earlier this Month (March 2013), and it turned into one of those gutter service visits. We had a young male waiter (I won't call him out here in public), who didn't have a clue what he was doing. He took 10 minutes just to get us our drinks - but the worst part was that our pre-entree soup & salad (just one of each) took 30 minutes (I timed it, due to the inconsistent service we've experienced in the past). At the 25 minute mark, I walked up to him (since he NEVER visited our table once after taking our order), to tell him that if the soup & salad didn't arrive in the next few minutes, we were simply going to leave. He apologized and said he would check on it - 5 minutes later, he finally brought them to the table (at least the soup was hot and the salad was good). He never visited our table after delivering the food - he didn't refill one of our drinks the entire time we were there. When he finally presented the bill (there was no comp for the horrible service), we graciously left him a 10% tip, since we felt sorry for him, thinking he probably wouldn't have his job much longer. The real problem is the management - not one manager came by the entire time, and this ridiculously inconsistent service is an ongoing (several years) problem at this BJ's location. I think we're cured of giving them more chances, but only time will tell. BJ's Management - are you listening? Does anyone in your organization have a clue?

3 stars not because I like this place but the in-laws from nearby Laguna Woods Village (the village formerly known as Leisure World) picked it and they think the food is terrific. On a Saturday night we arrived at 7pm and waited 45 mins. for a table. They don't take reservations. You get those pager thingies. No good ever comes of that. The Pale Ale is passable. The deep dish pizza is an abomination of wonder bread with toppings. I had a wedge salad and that was just fine. After sitting in a car for 8 hours you need re-hydration and eating half a head of iceberg is a good way to get it. Note: The BJ's team has ambitious plans to expand across the U.S. in the coming years. They look forward to opening a BJ's in your hometown! (Don't say I didn't warn you)

Gave them a second try for lunch and they STILL suck! At least 10-15 minutes to get a drink and 45 minutes for food. Horrible service in the bar yet again. Only good thing was the food does taste good and it comes out hot. The table next to us (same server) left their half empty drinks and walked out.

Generally I'm pretty happy with this place. The food is consistently good, as well as the service, usually. This time a group of 10 of us came in and were greeted by a very nice host. We then wandered into the bar and found a table where we were less than "greeted" by a very annoyed looking waitress. How dare we enter at 930 pm on a Sunday and sit in her section to celebrate my friends birthday! I'm a waiter myself and I understand that you may not always want to take a table later at night, but at least try and make me believe that you are half way excited that we are spending money and you will get the tip in the end. We try to make a joke or two to lighten the mood; no dice. At least the food runner had a smile on his face when he delivered the food, always a nice touch. Food tasted very good, as usual. had to try the hand crafted root beer this time. I'm not normally a soda drinker, but it was noticeably better than root beer from a soda tap, but falls short of A&W root beer at their restaurants. I think I'll just stick to their regular beer instead. The tatonka stout is a perfect complement to the pizookie at the end of the night. I usually feel 4-4.5 stars but this time felt more like 2.5 because of the service. It was just a one time flaw, next time I think will be nicer.

I wish I could give different number of stars for different foods. I like BJS, but I don't love it. Here's why.... I think that their food is mediocre, it's always a hit or miss for me. I either order the right thing, or I end up hating what I ordered and eating off of a neighbors plate. I LOVE Santa Fe salads, but BJs salad was a no go for me (compared to Cheesecake Factory's salads). However! (yes there is a however). The chicken AND pork mini sliders are delicious along with the wedge cut and skinny fries. So, I'd give their food a three. Now! For the Pazookie!! I'd give that five + stars! We got the party platter with the chocolate chip and oreo flavors. With scoops of ice cream on top.....taste like a sweet swirl of deliciousness in your mouth. I've been to plenty of BJS before, so as for the service at this particular BJS, I would say it was fairly good. The waiter joked with us, was nice, and brought our food out fast. Parking seems like a hassle though, since I noticed there were alot of people.

Yum! I used to live in Chicago and I miss their deep dish. Bjs makes a delicious comparable version. Cheese and tomato is the best. Plain simple and tasty! Whatever we order we are never disappointed! I love their veggie burger and now they have a wheat bun! The wedge cut fries are out of this world! The spicy tomato spaghetti is just that! It's mouth searing spicy but it burns only in the best of ways! The portions are enormous and every bite is tasty! Also they brew their own root beer! It's very good but you definitely have to have a sweet tooth. My dad absolutely loves the Jeremiah red and can basically finish a pitcher along with a pizza and be a very happy & well fed man!

Was looking forward to eating here. Really wanted to like this place. Arrived and gave our names to the host, waited about 5-10 minutes or so, not a big deal. The host who walked us to the table was personable, chatty but not fake, told him it was my mothers birthday in conversation (which he relayed to our server) we get seated at a table near the doors to the patio. Our server came over after about 5 minutes or so, never said her name, again not a big deal, immediately asked for our drink and appetizer order, to be fair she also wished mom a happy birthday which was nice. Cutting to the chase, the whole experience was mediocre at best. I ordered a veggie burger and told her that I was allergic to a particular herb, not only did she not check but she asked me if I knew if I could eat a "Garden" burger. My boyfriend went Through most of his meal without a refill on his beer. All in all we won't be back, my meal was poor, left most of it on my plate. Service was poor. My mom enjoyed her burger and her complimentary dessert so there's that.

Ah yes, another one of my happy haunts when looking for a good Happy Hour to crash. So the first review is for the happy hour. Great beers that are house brewed for $4 dollars during happy hour, which is what I would expect. Their sampler is a GREAT way to try all the different brews, but here's some advice, the servers here are usually cool with letting you sample a beer before you decide to down a full pint, they have always hooked it up, and are happy to just chat beer with you too. The Jeremiah red is a favorite of mine. Red, malty, sweet, rich with a full body, and a clean and lingering sweet then bitter after bite, this is what I always go for, unless they have Octoberfest, which is seasonal. All of their house brews are great, and give you a good variety. I don't really recommend the Berry Burst cider, unless you decide to float Guinness on top, but maybe that's just me. They also brew their own rootbeer, something great to share with the kids. Happy hour menu consists of $2 off all apps, 1/2 priced personal pizzas, which are AMAZING, and sliders, which I also recommend. I had pulled pork sliders, came with 3 and fries, and filled me up. So on to the food - I really enjoy their pizzas; very filling, full of flavor, and a great way to spend time with the family. I took my family here one time, and lemme tell you, they were in for a treat. not because this place is AMAZING, but because their Asian mom's and aunts that really don't go out to eat food that is not native to their continent, or heck, their country. We shared a half Great White and half Spinach Artichoke. Both have really creamy and flavorful white sauces, the Great white with nicely blackened chicken, garlic, and corn, the Spinach Artichoke was rich, creamy, full of tomatoes and artichoke hearts. I love all of their pizzas, and that is why I come. They have other "decent" food, but it's just the typical burgers and sandwiches. Dessert, you cannot go wrong with a pizookie. Nice and crisp edges, with a soft, decadent center, gooey and topped with vanilla bean ice cream. I enjoy all the flavors, choco chip, white choco macademia, oatmeal raison, and double chocolate. one piece of advice though, avoid dinner times during the weekends, because it can be a little wait. Amazing thing is, last time we were waiting, approx 30 minutes, the brought out mini slices of pizza for everyone, which was a nice little gesture.

DECOR: Nice Brewery style restaurant. Has nice bar area and a lot of space inside as well as a covered outside patio area. SERVICE: ALways thought the service at this location has been good. Never had a problem with the staff here. The Rancho Location on the other hand....not so good! FOOD: Pizza here is VERY GOOD! Love coming here for a Pizza and Snakebite. They hace some other good items on the menu as well and their prices arent too bad.

I've been here many times over the years. The food is always good and the place is always busy. I usually sit in the bar so I don't have to wait for a table and I also get to choose who is or is not at the seat/table next to me. On my most recent visit I went there specifically to watch a particular baseball game that was not on broadcast TV. According to Direct TV this location has the MLB package. Either the staff don't know how to use it or something. But they could not find the game I wanted. This resulted in a lower tab, but otherwise I was happy with my visit and I'll of course go back. Where else can you go for a 1000+ calorie salad? Seriously? Ouch.

BJs deep dish pizza is a staple and it is my go-to place for pizzas. They also have a great happy hour with awesome hours. Their small bites menu is also pretty good - stuffed mushrooms ($4.95) and chicken wontons ($2.95). Note that if you like your cocktails sweet, do not get any of their strawberry drinks! They are sour like Sour Patch Kids! I am not really a beer person, I would rather save the calories for a pink girly mixed drink. My favorite drinks here: Cosmopolitan (nicely blended with a kick) and the seasonal Watermelon Mojito (you can really taste the watermelon, perfect drink if you're not looking to get too hammered). This particular location has pretty good customer service, usually attentive and precise with orders.

I don't know where they get there in competent waiters. We had the worst service. The mediocre food took forever. I left a lousy tip because they deserved it. The food is over-priced. Never going back.

The food and dessert was great as always, but our waiter, Corey R was horrible. We were there for about three hours and other waiters had to bring our food out. Besides making us wait, he made a rude statement to all of us at the end saying, " Come on girls leave me a little something". He also screwd our receipts up. Overall, we all left unhappy.

We got a dirty table and right when we got our food, the waiter handed us the check. I've definitely at better service at other bj's but not this one.

Tried again tonite as the family wanted to go there. Glad to see that I'm not on my own with other reviewers also commenting on the continuing poor standards of service at this restaurant. We were sat at a table again that wasn't ready with a pizza and stand on top of the table. Drinks and food service was slow and when the appetizers arrived we had to ask 3 times for cutlery. The waitress went past our table 3 times after our request and forgot. We asked a manager who told us it was not her job to get silverware for the table. At this point we told her that we had already asked and been ignored so she went and got what we needed. Food was ok but again the second drinks order sat at the main bar for 20 minutes. Waitress was rude and not interested and could not cope with managing her tables. Clearly management are not interested in constructive feedback or they would respond to yelp reviews although it seems they pick and choose who they respond to.

Man, this place is always packed on every day of the week! Came here because of a $5 Google offer, but been here before with friends, it's a convenient location and easy to agree with pretty much everyone, they can all find something to like here. Great for after work happy hour or any kind of friends gathering. Had the Happy Hr Flatbread enough for 1 person, chicken letuce wraps, good to share, and a Texas style chicken fried steak, just because I felt like having a chicken fried steak! The steak was good, the mashed potatoes were OK but the sauce was bad, just swipe it to the side and ignore it. Get the Pouzuki dessert since everyone else will, or just get something that you'll actually like. Our server was great and everything was nice, but nothing stands out here, it's up to you and your friends to make this get together outstanding!

Thank god the beer was really good (Hopstorm IPA - hoppy makes me happy!). The food however was terrible. The side caeser salad had wilted lettuce and no flavor and the California Club flatbread pizza was seriously weird, not very hot and I think had three tiny cubes of chicken on it. On a more positive note, service was efficient - even a little too efficient since they brought the pizza about five minutes after the salad. Would be one star if not for the beer.

Tried the location in Laguna Hills off El Toro road when I was in the area for work. Came at 12:15 at the peak of lunch hour busyness. The lunch specials were very reasonably priced and offered many different items including sandwiches, soups salads and pizzas. They even had a lower calorie/fat menu for lunch. I chose the half a pizza and salad. The pizza was a bacon and tomato with a healthier white sauce for under 500 calories. Food was pretty good, not knock-your-socks-off good but worth the price. Here was my issue, service was horrible. After we were seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink almost immediately. Our drinks came fairly quickly and then we didn't see our server for 10 minutes. After she returned to take our order we didn't see her again for at least another 15 minutes. In this time another server brought us our food and refilled our drinks but only after we flagged her down looking for our server. I was glad she helped but if we didn't flag her down we would have waited while our food got cold and had nothing to sip on. When our server came back we asked for ranch and crushed red pepper. She brought back ranch and no crushed red pepper and proceeded to ask "if were good". At this point I gave up because our food was already half done and cold waiting for our simple items. I understand servers have to take breaks and such but in the peak of lunch service when you know people have to go back to work this should never be happening. Maybe if I am around another BJ's I may end up trying it again for lunch because the food is pretty good and I'm sure the service can't be like this everywhere.

Just went with my best friend. She ordered a drink, I was DD. No complaints about the drink. We ordered 2 appetizers: calamari and spinach and artichoke dip. Calamari was tasteless, and the dip was alright. Ordered a mini salted caramel pizookie, which was amazing. The actually horrible part of our experience was the service. We were seated promptly as they were not busy, and our server appeared not long thereafter, if a bit uninterested and droll. He took our drink order, came back with our drinks, and took our food order. Food eventually came out, and our server DISAPPEARED. Never checked on us, only came by once to tell us that his shift was ending, and we could tell he had one foot out the door, and pointed out his replacement who would "be coming by to introduce himself soon." Server #2 asked us how everything was going -- 20 minutes later -- and we asked for napkins (note that we hadn't been given napkins OR utensils, before OR after receiving our food). Took server #2 15 minutes to come back with the napkins. Took him another 15 minutes to come by and ask us if we needed anything else. We ordered dessert, which came in a reasonable amount of time, and with the check. It took another 15 minutes for someone to come and take our payment. This whole time, we watched both of our servers repeatedly visiting, checking on, and chatting with other tables. I counted several servers, and it was a quiet Tuesday night, so we can't exactly chalk up the neglect to being understaffed; I can only assume that they didn't take us or our business seriously because our bill wasn't going to yield them a substantial tip. Won't be coming back. EVER.

Good old BJ's. I'll keep it simple: get the pizza. Any pizza, they are all good. Pasta sucks, beer is great, burgers are good. Sooo, pizza and beer is the name of the game for this place. I swear, if you don't make Alfredo from scratch it's garbage. Same case here along with a dozen other places in the area. Oh well, great white pizza for days!

The food is average, ok. It's a chain. But it's decent. Beer is awesome. But we don't go here, because the service is TERRIBLE. Only decent service is if you sit at the bar. Sit in the bar area, and expect to wait. And wait. And wait. Happy hour is not good either. Come on!?!?! $1 off beer and half price mini pizza?

HURRY and get your Grand Cru while it lasts! They don't normally release the Grand Cru until 12/31, but not this year!!! Served to you in a really cool Grand Cru glass too! yelp.com/biz_photos/7w7H… As quoted by Brewed for Thought brewedforthought.com/?p=… Just love the BJ's Favorite PIzza ~ The Works! Oven-baked meatballs, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, white onions and seasoned tomatoes. Quoted from their menu. Also had their Spinach & Artichoke Pizza ~ A rich, creamy medley of spinach, artichoke hearts, cream cheese and mozzarella topped with our fresh tomato basil blend and Parmesan cheese. Quoted from their menu. Seriously some good for little moola during Happy Hour! You can become VERY happy here! Service at the bar - 5 Stars! Ambiance - 4 Stars - like the ones in NoCal better... Food - 4 Stars - yummy for the tummy!

Ok! Starting '12 off with a raving review! I am officially over BJs, not because their food sucks or the service is bad. It's just that what was a once a special lil' pizza place in the Belmont Shore has now morphed into some off-clone of The Cheesecake Factory or that glutton's paradise, The Claim Jumper. I came here over the holidays and the place was packed. One very nice thing that they did while we were waiting was pass around an appetizer tray of little pizza bites. That was way cool. We ordered a calamari appetizer, the bf ordered the angus beef sliders with fries, his bro got the chili, and I was only one who ordered pizza, which was a mini BJ's Favorite. Prior to food, I ordered the 8 beer flight. The taster glasses were the largest I had ever been served. They were so large I had to share. Unheard of, right? That's one of the 2 stars right there. The rest? A big MEH. Our service was fine if not excellent, but there was a chorus of: 1) I never have to eat here again, 2) Yeah, I'm not really fan, I was just being polite, and 3) who picked this place. So, sorry, BJs. There are just so many more appealing options out there. You were once great, but it's time for me to remember you for just that.

Brought the family and grand parents to BJ's for a birthday celebration where everyone could find something they liked. After waiting 30 min for the food they brought the wrong pizza for the grandparents and our veggie pizza was terrible, just a hand full of bell peppers and olives in the middle, nothing like the picture (and said that they only put the vegetables listed on the menu on the deep dish pizza). They offered to bring us another pizza, but the grandparents could not sit for another 30 min, so they said they would bring the toppings that were left off, which they never did. The waitress never smiled, the manager was not helpful, clearly tired and did not seem to care. My recommendation is to try a small Pizza place or find a different BJ's.

This BJ's has been around for a while in Orange County. Not the greatest place for food and service combo, but if you want a guaranteed quick and easy grab of food and drink, sit at the bar in front of the bartender. Ordered calamari and a pizza and a beer. Going during happy hour is a good idea if you want to save a little. The staff is kind of slow, but this place has been around for ages and it's a classic go-to place for me. I recommend it for non-special occasions.

This place has a great server: Perri. (How do you forget a name like Perri?) I go to a lot of restaurants in Orange County and experience a lot of servers, both good and not so good. Well this server was probably the hardest worker, most cheerful, and pleasant server I have ever seen. I was in a group of four and the order was very tricky...Perri got it correct and served it all at the same time. She came back to check on us, and convinced all of us to order desert (we never do that)....it was just a real pleasant experience. We hope to get her again.

BJ's one of my favorite places to go for a late night snack and drink. This location has always been one of the better ones especially in South Orange County. Tonight must have been an off night. The service in the bar was poor. The food was good.

Trying the under 575 calorie "enlightened" menu. Tacos! The tacos were good, very small but that's what I expected . The veggie Flat Bread was very tasty too. Service is always good.

Disappointed....we were excited to eat their bbq chicken pizza and their claim chowder but it wasn't what we expected. The pizza was dry had to ask for a side of bbq sauce and the claim chowder bread bowl was burnt! Who toasts their bread bowls? Not going back their for food again:(

My colleagues loved their beers and the food was ok. But we were waiting for 45 mins, after being first told 20mins. They did not program our buzzer correctly. They said they called us but no lights & no vibration so ermm no you didnt! They gave us another one & we had to tell them we had been waiting before for 45 mins earlier! Another 20 mins wait, errrmmm I think not! So what do you know in 5 mins we were buzzed. No communication between staff! Luckily the servers at the bar were very competent & got us served quickly drinks & food before we got seated finally almost an hour later! The bar staff is why I gave them 2 stars. Would not eat here again. Shame as like BJ's ,just not this location. It's a stone throw from laguna hills mall so is real busy and crowded! The staff seem real overwhelmed!

This is a very large bjs located close to the mall. Bjs always bring back fond memories and I always enjoy both the food and experiences here. I love getting their samplers: you can choose up to 8 of their beers. They always have a seasonal to mix things up a bit. My favorite thing to order is their clam chowder bread bowl . It is soon yummy with the top of the bowl being converted into a piece of garlic bread. I also enjoy their pizzas and lettuce wraps. And the bonus is always their pazookie...delicious! And always a fun time

The food is always good, though I tend to get the same thing every time I go. Mini Sweet Pig pizza! The caesar salad is also "the best" in my boyfriend's opinion. This is our go-to pizza place in the Lake Forest area. By the time the waiter/waitress asks if we'd like some pizookis we're too full for dessert. As far as the service goes, it tends to be on the good side. I've never had a bad waiter, but there are certain times where they get really busy. I don't blame anyone for having to wait for your food to be cooked properly. Mid-week dinner hour seems to be the best time to go. Friday night and Saturday are a little crazy as expected. It's a great place to go if you don't mind having your meal buddies looking at the big screen TVs over your shoulder. The bar space is pretty nice, good for happy hour if you just want to have an appetizer and a beer.

I would recommend coming to Bj's only for lunch. Every time I come here for dinner my friends and I have to fight for a place in the bar area or wait hours for a table. The food and service is typically good but my last couple of visits to this particular Bj's have been a disappointment. Definitely would NOT get take out here again. I placed my order online and they said my order would be ready at 6:50 (keep in mind this is 30 minutes away from when I placed my order). I got there maybe a few minutes before that time and when I went to pay the girl was having issues getting me the receipt I have to sign. She had to have the manager come and print it out. The girl said my order would be out any minute. I took a seat and by the register and expected my order to be there soon (I only ordered a simple soup and salad). Ten minutes passed and everyone that ordered a pizza got their order right away. I was kind of confused on how everyone was walking out with pizzas with no wait, but my soup and salad had taken 40 minutes to make now? I ended up waiting a total of 25 minutes for a freakin soup and salad! (plus the 30 minutes I waited at home) Finally the girl in charge of the take out told me she was going to go get my order and ran to the back. She was back there for about 5 minutes. I FINALLY got my order and when I got home I could tell they made my food in a hurry because my wedge salad had less than a teaspoon of each fixing (bacon, blue cheese, etc.) This entire take out experience has made me not really want to come to Bj's again. I paid 12$ for basically a head of iceberg lettuce cut in half and a cup of soup. I've ordered this before but ate in the restaurant and it was way better. I'm giving them 3 stars based on my past experiences and the food is good whenever I go there for lunch. It seems they need to be more organized and not be running around the place like chickens with their heads cut off.

I guess I spoke too soon when I said you never disappoint. A friend called me up for lunch and we met here. It wasn't packed but again, what's with all the bad seating choices? You took us near the back and you wanted to seat us at a table in between other folks where we would be sandwiched in. Not cool. We asked for a booth and your server frowned at us but gave us one anyway. Our drinks arrived and my friend's drink had a few random objects floating in it. But it was replaced quickly enough. This time around we went for the Cobb Salads but I got the lunch special with the broccoli cheddar soup and soup was kinda bland and the salad was just ok, not great like before. Personally, I think the croutons were stale. My friend's cobb salad hardly had any meat but we got extra meat and some complimentary dinner rolls as well. I'm still a fan though. I know your pizza is better but today was just not the day to venture here for lunch.

Let's just say from the most recent experience my friends and I had on March 3, 2014 I will not be going back. The food was way under par except for the pizza and the service was absolutely horrifying and embarrassing for an establishment as big as this one. Here's how it went down: My boyfriend and a couple of our friends decided we would go to BJ's since we hadn't been there in a couple of years and wanted to enjoy ourselves after a stressful day. It was a Monday night so we assumed it wouldn't be too busy. We were seated right away which was a nice start to the evening. Our waiter came to our table to get our drinks and we could barely understand him. This was not a good thing since he was our waiter, but were still optimistic that nothing would go awry. My boyfriend ordered an alcoholic beverage and we got a round of water. After 15 minutes my boyfriend still did not have his drink. Apparently, we were sitting at a table labeled "ignore us" or something because every time we tried to flag a person down to help us they would just walk right on by without even making eye contact. There was finally a waiter that attended to the drink situation and he brought it right away. This was rather frustrating and who should have to wait for a beverage for 15 minutes? We were finally ready to order our food, but the waiter seemed to be MIA (missing in action). He finally showed up and we placed our food order which was a mini sweet pig pizza, a burger with an added side salad. Once again we could barely understand him. When he left I commented to the table that I thought things were going to go downhill from here on out and they all agreed. We also felt like he was thrown on the floor from working int the back or something. Our food took so long to get that we looked like we were going to gnaw each others arm off or something. My friend's burger was okay, but the fries that came with it were atrocious (like many days cold and stale). We all commented that McDonald's fries were better. The burger came with a side salad and it was the saddest sloppiest looking salad ever made. It seriously looked like it was dumped out of a packaged bag with the dressing was dripping off of the little cup it was in. We all commented that Carl's Jr. made better salads. The mini sweet pig pizza I ordered was the best thing ever! It was made perfectly and tasted fabulous! By this time we just had to get the manager regarding our experience so far. That even took awhile to flag someone down to get the manager for us. The manager did attend to us and was super nice at first about our complaints. We were quite frank with her and told her the service sucked, our waiter was MIA and the food was below par. She offered pizookies on the house which we welcomed appreciatively. That even went awry. While waiting for our pizookies our waiter decided to appear and ask us how our meal was. My boyfriend made a snippy sarcastic comment that went something like, "Oh! So nice of you to show up again after being MIA the whole night! I felt it was necessary to add that we already spoke with the manager. I mean who does this when our meal was already done? That WAS NOT impressive at all. The pizookies that came to our table were mini ones and were not the right ones we ordered. Our waiter came to our table and said they knew about the mistake and the correct pizookies would be coming out shortly. The pizookies we got were tasty, but by this time we just wanted to leave. We finally got our check and there must have been a miscommunication with the manager because the side salad was not taken off like it should have been and it was not $2; it was $6. What a nightmare! So we got the manager once again and reconciled this matter, but our manager turned from nice to snippy (kinda mean) in two seconds flat and that new adjusted receipt came out so fast it was like magic after we waited such a long ass time for everything else. We also did not feel our waiter deserved a tip so none was given. Talk about a nightmare, an embarrassment and a true disappointment for an establishment like this. I feel like the loudness of the restaurant, not enough training and short staff play factors in the horrifying service and mistakes that are made. I feel like good food and service should go hand in hand. It's unfortunate that the service is that horrendous because the food is pretty good. For all the food lovers out there BEWARE and BE WARY of what you are walking into if you decide to dine here.

There are exact items that I like in their menu. 1. Bj's Favorite, thin crust 2. Red Beer 3. Avocado egg roll Other thing are average quality and over priced. The happy hour which all the mini pizzas are half off, it's a great deal which I always go there for just the happy hour. It''s also good for a group of 10 or more for a birthday party or friendly gathering.

Oh, and the pizza came out raw when I was writing this review. When I pointed it out to the manager he admitted it looked doughy. His next question surprised me: " Do you want a new pizza?" No, I want to eat raw pizza!?!?

I found a table at the bar and was helped right away. Things were going well! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza which was aweseome!! I have always loved thier pizza and food, however when it came time to get dessert the waitress took forever... I could've had a BJ for how long it took to get my pizookie.... Other than that it was a good Wednsday night dinner!

Normally I love BJs but not so much after our take out experience this week. We ordered online and the pick up time the site gave us was 1/2 and hour, so we got there in about half an hour and our food was cold. I understand take out won't taste as good as dining in, but come on for it to be that cold should not be normal. We ordered spinach artichoke dip, the BBQ chicken salad and the BJs classic combo pizza. Spinach artichoke dip was cold and they barely gave us any in the to go carton. I've had it in the restaurant before so I know that the serving size should be larger. The BBQ chicken salad was a major bummer because they forgot the crispy onions, that's my favorite part! They did a good job at not putting on the beans or tomatoes that I had asked to be left off the salad, but nowhere on the online order did we put no onions. So for 14 bucks it was a bland salad. The pizza was cold. Major bummer. There wasn't enough sauce so the pizza was dry and the pepperonis were not toasty like they normally are. It seemed like they rushed making the pizza. The vibe I got was that they rushed though our order and it was done way before our 1/2 hour time frame and that is why it was cold. I am giving 2 stars because my experience dining in had been much better. For over 40 bucks our meal sucked and I wished we had gotten take out from somewhere else. Another annoyance was we ordered after 8, and when we went in the place was pretty empty so I have no idea why they didn't take their time.

My only experience with BJ's has been in Brea and was not good. This location was much better as it not in close proximity to loud, obnoxious college students, but as other people have pointed out, the service leaves something to be desired. I don't know where the server went at the end of our meal. My grandma and I wanted to pay the bill and this guy was missing in action. We had to go up front and then they had to find him, which I didn't understand. I was thinking, why do they have to find him to settle our bill? (-1 star) I'd definitely come back though. The ambiance is really modern and cool, the food was good and I like how they give you the caloric information. I don't like deep dish pizza because I think it's a carbohydrate overdose, but they have an extensive menu with even flatbread pizzas and a very impressive beer list.

this may contain a contradiction, the four stars and what is about tobe written, but here it goes...I found a Hair in food today of the black curly type... Here is where this takes a turn, I took that item and its surrounding food out and then ate the salad...I am sure the rest of the salad was fine. when I pointed out the "quality control" issue the server apologized and the manager delivered our bill with a free salad- this wasnt necessary and although a kind gesture, it was not complete, because I am sure my guests matching meal was concocted, no pun intended, in the same bowl... I do love this place and the happy hour is the best.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. We went to this location on the 4th of July for dinner with my two stepchildren and their friend. The service seemed a little slow considering they weren't especially busy. We ordered one speciality calzone, one traditional calzone, a french dip sandwich and two personal pizzas. I also tried the black cherry soda the restaurant makes. For starters, the black cherry soda was okay. It is no Dr. Brown's. Can't really comment on the food taste, didn't eat any of it. The specialty calzone was burnt on the bottom. Where is the quality control? I am not talking dark brown or burnt in one area, the whole bottom was burnt. The calzones were very small compared to other restaurants. The personal pizzas were ordered as white pizzas with alfredo sauce. The pizzas were supposedly brushed with alfredo sauce which no one could taste. The manager basically blamed the people who ordered the food for the error, only offered to take the calzone off the bill and had offered to remake the three entrees. What exactly were the other two people supposed to do for ten minutes while the other orders are being remade? By the time the manager had "resolved" the situation, my calzone was cold. Needless to say, we left without paying and will not be returning. Horrible experience.

Today was my first time at the bar top. Although legal, I did not drink. It was water with no ice. As for food, it was the lovely mozzarella salad and tomato bisque soup, which I highly recommend. Another time I had the fruity beer. Good for me...and I'm not much of an alcoholic drinker The highlight today was two things: my boyfriends first day as a bartender and that I met the nicest couple ever! Two hours of laughs and converstion. I recommend this place.

What started off as a decent dinner experience quickly went down the toilet the following day. Literally. During my first visit here with 4 other friends the place was poppin' from the Monday Night football crowd, and though we only had to wait a couple minutes to be seated, our food took forever. I mean FOR-EV-ER. We asked ourselves multiple times where our waitress/food was. I took off a couple stars for the wait alone, but the stomach flu I had to deal with the next day that left me in bed until 6PM was the nail in the coffin. Now, all my other friends seemed to enjoy their food just fine, so maybe it was just what I ordered. I'll be sure to stay away from the Italian Market Salad at other locations, and make the drive to the BJ's in Tustin next time.

Food is ok. But our server Troy was the nicest most sincere server ever. I went late with my daughter and he took such good care of us. I had to say something nice about him here because he was that good. Thanks for a great night out Troy. (:

So this is a bit of a mixed review. First I just want to say that the entree's were very good, generally always are. Their Pizza is great and the Jumbalaya is even better. However, the service was absolutely atrocious. The waiter was too cool to serve us, and anytime we asked for something it was a burden on his soul. I know it's a bit much to ask, but can I at least have some ketchup for my 4 day old french fries? Oh, and my empty glass will refill itself Im sure. Too bad I'm not more of a dic#, or I might have gone behind the bar to get a refill myself! At any rate, I will not be returning to this BJ's as the final icing on the cake was that he gave us the wrong flavor of Pizooki we ordered to-go (unless of course Raspberries taste like chocolate chips now). Normally this would not be a game changer, but it just sort of tied a bow on the whole experience. My advice: only eat here if you want bar food, and sit at the bar. If you want good pizza and friendly service go to CPK, or better yet Peppino's!

The beer selection makes this place. One of the few places that carry La Chouffe. It's probably the best Belgian beer out there. And it's well priced for what it is. The open face chili cheeseburger is always my goto menu item when I'm starving and don't mind feeling like a fat slob after I inhale the gigantic plate of food. It's HUGE! You can seriously just split that plate with someone and both of you will get full. I'm usually not a fan of the house brews but the pumpkin ale they had on tap for fall was very good. Give it a shot!

I used to go to this BJ's every Thursday with part of my soccer team (usually 6-8 people), but the service has gotten so bad that we've decided to move on to a place that can get food to us in under an hour so we can enjoy the rest of the evening talking, instead of shoving food in our faces so we can get home in time to get some sleep. Tonight was the final straw. We were sitting in the bar area during happy hour, and the service was absolutely horrible. We were unlucky enough to get a new girl who looked like a deer in the headlights while she was trained by a guy who couldn't stand still to listen to an order. All I ordered was water and a thin crust pizza with mushrooms and olives. It took over half an hour to get my pizza, and when it got to me, it wasn't the Gluten-free thin-crust pizza that I ordered, it was the flatbread pizza from the appetizer menu, which isn't gluten free. When I asked the server to clarify what I was given, he said it was the flatbread, and that he didn't hear me say "Gluten Free." ... Okay... So I might not have said the entire "Gluten-free Thin Crust pizza" but I ALSO didn't say "flatbread" And at this point, I still didn't have my water. I had to ask for it three times, and it took nearly an hour to get it. When I asked him to take it back and fix the order, it took another 30 minutes to get it. I'm sorry, but when I'm at a restaurant, and THEY screw up my order, I expect the corrected order to get to me ASAP. I had to ask for a box to go by time it actually got to the table. And to top it off, I was charged full price. I'm not the type of person who sharks for free food when there is a mistake, but when that mistake has me sitting at a table for an hour and a half with no food, it's a little insulting to pay full price. Other problems with my group's experience is that someone asked for the cheese pizza bread from the smallbites menu and buffalo won-tons. She never got the won-tons (luckily, they weren't on the bill), but her pizza bread came out as a mini pizza, and then when she got the actually pizza bread, it had pepperoni on it. AND, the waiters only did one round of refills in the hour and a half we were there.

And finally it is here, my first rant. See now, my friends know that I like to complain about things. A lot of things. Most things, honestly. But in my defense, I complain because sometimes I believe that things can be better. That things can work more efficiently and be more effective. Well, this is a perfect example of what occurred this past Saturday night: So all that week, I had been jonesin for some pizza. So where else would I go, besides BJ's Restaurant and Brewery in Laguna Hills. I hadn't had BJ's Pizza for quite awhile and was really excited to taste the deliciousness once more. I pulled up, parked my car, and walked into the restaurant. There was no wait, and my party got seated immediately, without any time wasted. This instantly struck me as strange, being that it was 8:00p.m. on a Saturday night; Yet, my mind moved on. I would find out later, why this was the case. After ordering the "Chicken Bacon Ranch" pizza with added "Buffalo Sauce" and a side of fries, the "Jeremiah Red Ale" came and the night had begun (But damn, I didn't know it was to be the worst restaurant experience of my adult life). Let's get something straight real quick. I've worked at a restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum. I understand busy nights and 1-hour long waits. I understand who cooks the meals: the chefs, who takes my orders: the waiter/waitress, and who fixes issues: the manager. So for the entire meal, our server (Sadly, forgot her name), was good. She wasn't amazing, and she definitely wasn't bad. She was almost exactly what I want in a server. Now, she brought us the pizza, cut it for us, and I bit in. 'Damn I had made a good choice putting the buffalo sauce on the pizza', was the first thought in my head after I dove in. Twisting and smashing in my mouth, the bacon, ranch, chicken, sweetened crust, and buffalo sauce made me satisfied and left me without any buyers remorse. I take my third bite. Well, to put it plainly... I bit straight into a piece of metal. Initially, I had thought it was just a really crispy piece of crust. That was until I bit into it once more and it didn't budge, only hurt my tooth. Sadly, I spit out what was my beautifully tasting pizza, and find a piece of metal, no smaller than a BB-pellet. Clearly, and for reasons not needing explanation, that alone was bad. But the night had just begun. In the restaurant business, that's a huge deal, obviously. Nonetheless, I assume, and know, that these things happen. Thus, I wasn't angry at that point to be honest. As I've said before, I worked at a restaurant with non-stop traffic; So I understand that shit happens. But here's where things started to tail off... I told the waitress what had happened, and she immediately apologized and told me that she would bring the manager right over. 10 minutes later. No really, ten minutes is what I waited for the manager to come over. That, in and of itself, is ridiculous. To think that it took a manager of a restaurant, 10 minutes to a approach a customer who had just bitten into a piece of metal in a pizza made by one of his restaurants chef's, is baffling. That would have never happened at the restaurant I had worked at, let alone ANY respectable establishment. "Oh, wow, yeah that's bad. I'll bring you gentlemen another pizza." What you just read above, is all KEVIN (the worst manager I have ever met) said to me when he came over to see what had happened. He walked away promptly after he said the word, "pizza". (I didn't hear from KEVIN for the remainder of the meal, until... Well, you'll read)... But really? No, honestly. Really? I don't even have your respect to receive an apology. No sign of remorse that a customer had just bitten into a pizza that had a piece of metal in it. A piece of metal, that luckily didn't shatter my tooth. Jesus... How did you get your job, Kevin? Especially at this time, we have loads of unemployed members of society looking for work, who would be clamoring for your position, and this is how you act? I am a huge fan of BJ's, but from our last order of food at this location....I'm not too happy anymore. To get to the point, the Oktoberfest beer is great, but the pizza that we ordered was given to us warm and the crust wasn't the awesome crust I've come to know and love about BJ's pizza. This time, the pizza crust was soft, no crunch throughout like I am used to. Don't know why I never thought to complain about it. Took most of the pizza home. It'll be better after we put it in the oven.

I know BJ's is a chain and all that, but they do know how to do things right here and that's alright with me. My family comes here maybe once a month to take advantage of the Simon's Mall Kidgets promotion where kids eat free (which can shave quite a bit off the total bill), so it's really worth it. The food is pretty darned good; the only time I was ever served a bad meal (the fish in the fish tacos was way overcooked), they quickly brought me another make-up order. A few of my favorite dishes include the Cuban burger, the turkey Cobb sandwich and the chicken parmigiana with spicy marinara sauce. Really, it's all pretty good. Funny, the only thing I really don't bother with are the deep-dish pizzas for which BJ's is known, but only because I'm a thin-crust guy. I'm sure their pizzas are good, too. The service also deserves special mention as they know how to deal with attention-challenged toddlers (and maybe even adults, I don't know); making sure they have drinks right away and keeping things moving for the parents, always checking to see how everything is going. Despite their general youth, they seem like they're well trained and genuinely helpful. Oh, and BJ's serves great beer and cocktails, and has a bazillion monitors with sports on them around the restaurant. Seriously, what's not to like about this place?

Nice selection of beer, if that's what you want. I ordered a New York cut steak and it was the worst cut that I've had at any restaurant in recent memory. I ordered it cooked medium and it came very rare. Dark red meat, and barely even lukewarm. Also lots of hard rubbery fat, little to no seasoning, and basically uneatable. My wife told me to send it back, but I've seen those undercover shows and I see what they do to your food when you send it back, so I didn't. The carrots and broccoli were also barely warm and undercooked. The mashed potatoes were good. Our service was good, but my meal was the pits. My wife and daughter had no real complaints about their meals, but both said it was mediocre food at best. I drove through Taco Bell on the way home. I will not be going back.

Have't gotten our food yet but all the servers seem like they are having a really bad evening. No smiles. No customer service. No personality at all. I know we aren't here to be friends with the servers but I would expect them to at least be pleasant. I won't be back to this location again!!! Ok so when the food came, it was absolutely horrible. How does a restaurant that specializes in pizza not get the pizza right?!?!? I ordered a vegetarian pizza. There was no sauce of any kind and it was hard to find the veggies. It was just pizza bread. I have to admit, the avocado egg roles are really yummy!

Called in a simple takeout order. 2 orders of wings and a pizookie. The wings weren't tossed in sauce, nor was there any sauce on the side. The pizookie was supposed to be half chocolate chip, half macadamia nut. Instead, we only got chocolate chip, and it only filled up about 60% of the tin. Not coming back...

This place is great! Great food, great prices and excellent service. Their pizzas are my personal favorite but I also love their grilled chicken pasta dish. Their beers have unique flavor and are enjoyable, but their seasonals are usually a cut above their year-round beers. The service at this particular location is really great. They have a "call-ahead" program which takes a big chunk out of the wait time. Their greeters are friendly and efficient. I have never been let down by the wait staff. They are very attentive, polite and knowledgeable. This location is really busy so I don't blame the wait staff if the kitchen is backed up, but the way they handle it is really impressive. Just about every time that I have gone and the food has taken a little long, our watier has always explained that they are busy and working on our food. That's all I ask--that they act like they care about my experience! So long as they act like they are attentive, I think most reasonable people wouldn't mind waiting an extra 15-20 minutes for their food. Anyway, great place and great people! Two thumbs up!

The minute my wife and I walked in the door we where greeted with friendly smiles and kind welcomes. After noticing how PACKED this place was I for sure thought it would take at least 1/2 an hour to get a seat. But it only took 5 min. So after getting seated our waitress LIZ, who was so friendly and accomadating, took our order. We ordered two main meals with sides and an appitizer. So our sides from the main meal came out and our main meal came out. But no appitizer. But all along LIZ was so kind and apologetic and kept us up to date about the progress of the appitizer. So then then the manager Robert came over and apologized and asked if he could give us the appitizer on the house. Dont forget this place was PACKED so I get it why it took so long for the apps. to come out. But Robert went out of his way to make us feel like he really cared about us. This place has GREAT SERVICE and Robert and LIZ have GREAT customer service skills. So next time you go there ask to waited on by LIZ. I promise you will not be disappointed.

This location is the one we usually go to. I really like it because it's one of the biggest locations and the wait is not usually that long. I have gone there to watch a superbowl with family and I recommend it. It'll be fun. I love their Pazzoki, and try their beer sampler.

A great place to hang out and have a glass of average beer. The food is slightly above average and service is a hit and miss. Sometimes we get the butterfly waitress, and at other times we get the magicians who pulls a disappearing act.

So BJ's in general, any of their locations, is one of the slowest Restaurants to serve food. Well, this location Tops them all...1 1/2 hrs to get our food, if it wasnt for the beers, it would've been misserable. On to the other issues: 1) when have you seen a "yellow" clam chowder? Well, they seem to think its normal. 2) Your plate with Bell Peppers? They have it! But they won't take the label off the pepper, nice! 3) Buffalo Chicken Pizza? Yes! but you'll get the least cheese you'll ever see!...not much left to say, if I ever go back, it will never be to this location.

The food here used to be much better. I think it is under new management or something. I hate the drive, but the food at the RSM location is much better and you get larger portions. The pizza last time around was almost inedible. The dough is just not right lately. I stick to the parmesan crusted chicken anyways ;)

  • Betsy C.

Pizza and cocktails are our staple at Bj's. They also have these little fried artichokes that they serve with a house made cream sauce that we absolutely love. The problem is that the service is usually hit or miss at this place. Some days we get good servers and some days... Not so much. But every single time, we find ourselves standing in front of the hostess stand waiting while the staff run around for like 15 mins before even acknowledging us. Also, its been more than one occasion that we have had to ask for some Clean silverware. The pizza itself is good but its signature is deep dish so its bready. Pizookies are pretty bomb tho.

My favorite restaurant. Only place I can get the beer I like. PM porter is my favorite beer here, but they also have great brewed root beer and other refreshing drinks. Food is regularly outstanding. Atmosphere enjoyable for casual or more romantic times. I always have a good time here. Service is a step above as well.

The food is pretty standard for a chain bar and grill style place, and the price is a little more than Applebee's or chili's. Their desserts are amazing, but placing an order by phone for pick up is THE. WORST. They start every sentence by trying to sell you on appetizers and finish by trying to get you to buy drinks or desert. Super annoying. I know it's probably the rules from corporate but they need to stop and just let people order what they planned on ordering when they called in

    (3)
  • Beachy K.

Typical mediocre corporate fare. Low quality food and service. If you're a big beer drinker (I'm not) than you may like the sportsbar atmosphere and drinks. But my friend and I agreed that the food appears to be an after-thought. I've given them 2 chances: once in Chula Vista, when they screwed up our pizza order -- we ordered a deep dish with sausage, mushroom, and green peppers, and they brought us an incomplete pizza without tomato sauce and tomatoes -- that's like building a home without a foundation! The thing was as dry and tasteless as cardboard. The next time we were in Laguna Hills (El Toro) and my date ordered the beef dip. which was stale bread with meager bits of mystery meat. I ordered a salad and stuffed baked potato, which was disappointing because of the minimal amount of ingredients. $8 for basically a plain baked potato - ridiculous!

I have a love, hate relationship with you dearest BJ's. Came here over the weekend for a friend's birthday. The first words out of the server's mouth was "oh shit, you can ask to talk to my manager anytime.....". Really?! Are you having THAT bad of a night or for some reason you seem to think you can't handle a table of 15. Sure, we're a large group, but we understand that it's hard to serve that large of a group, we'll cut you some slack. It took her an hour to FINALLY take our food orders. Three of my friends never got their second round of drinks. Our food was served cool. She overcharged us by $45....there were some food items on the receipt that no one ordered, but mysteriously were on the bill. In the course of two hours, I witnessed three people fall on the slippery tile floor too. Really?! This can't be good for business or their workers. I think I'll stear clear from BJ's for awhile....major disappointment.

I usually don't have high reviews for chain restaurants and this place is no exception... The food is isn't bad, it's just not spectacular. I honestly don't think there's anything unique about their menu - granted, I came here for lunch with some co-workers. What I can say though is that Bj's, and any other chain restaurant like it are great places for groups of people because there is something for everybody. We tried the lunch menu and I liked the variety of it: there was pizza, salad, soup and sandwich combos, fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and tacos all for under $12. I chose the Mahi Mahi tacos. There wasn't anything stand out about it. It was a piece of under seasoned mahi mahi and cabbage in between a flour tortilla and served with a lime wedge. I am glad that it wasn't overcooked or undercooked though! It also came with small cups of Guacamole, salsa, and a side of multicolored tortilla chips. I really think the Mahi Mahi could have used a flavorful sauce. Chronic tacos serves theirs with a chronic sauce, which gives a pop to their tacos - Bj's just gave me a lime wedge and apparently wanted me to hide the fact that it's under seasoned with salsa and creamy guac. I may not be a Mexican food connoisseur but I'm pretty sure salsa and guac can't fix everything - even Albatross's tacos have some more flavor. Before I upgrade or downgrade the rating I will probably have to try some other things on the menu. I do think that the service could use some help. I understand that it is a Friday around lunch hour but it's near a lot of businesses, people only really have an hour to eat lunch...it should not take me 20 minutes to get my drink and order and another 20 minutes to get my food.... I'm not sure if it was the waiter's fault or if the restaurant just needs to streamline their lunch hour service - luckily for me my boss isn't a huge stickler for going over my lunch hour because I tend to stay later anyways, but for those who have people counting their every minute....this may not be the best choice for lunch.

Just had dinner here last night. Since we were in a hurry did not send back food . But, ordered a California Grilled Chicken Sandwich with wedge cut fries. Received a Parmesan chicken sandwich with cold fries. On a positive note, the server noticed the error on the sandwich and changed the bill without my having to complain.

One thing you can count on with this BJ's... horrible service. Every single time, both in person and takeout. As I write this, I've been on hold to order a pizza forever. How busy could they be, it's a weeknight at 5:00? I'm probably still going to order and I'm hungry, and if it's anything like last time, I'll get home with something other than I order. :(

Don't order the grilled steak salad. The greens were good but the fat and gristle were not trimmed off the steak. This left 2 options: eat and swallow the fat & gristle or cut it off and plant it on a corner of the plate.

Horrible way to end my labor day night. First, the lady taking my curbside order did not know the menu at all nor did she take my name, I had to call her back. It wasn't until I got home 20 minutes later, that I realized my order was incorrect. The BBQ chicken pizza was not a BBQ chicken pizza from BJ's.The pizza had bbq sauce under some tomatoes and in between what was basically a big loaf of bread. I asked for thin crust, could have gotten better pizza from dominoes. The salmon i ordered came with a white sauce, rice pilaf and veggies. The salmon I received had asparagus and quinoa with some nasty cherry cough syrup sauce. I called in as soon as I noticed, the guy on the phone was unprofessional to say the least. He told me to come in for my correct order, no apolology, nothing else. I called back to speak to the manager, who offered to have the order corrected or she could give me a voucher for the next time. She also told me she would come speak to me when I returned to get the correct order. I arrived 15-20 minutes later and expected the food to be ready like they said it would. I was wrong, after having to wait another 10 minutes for the food I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the manager to come out. An hour and a half after placing my original order and speaking with a manager, all I got was excuses and the blame game. Even after letting her know I'd be writing this complaint on yelp, the manager gave me the go ahead to do so. The time spent talking to her was a complete waste of time and could have been spent eating my food, instead it got cold and after getting home I was so over eating the food!!

Giving it 3 stars because I've been here numerous times and its usually been amazing. But the last time I went everything that arrived at the table was cold, pasta was really really reeeeally salty, and our drinks were awful... Granted, it was Saturday night and they were slammed, wouldn't care if our food took longer just wish it was hot

This review is based off of two things: service and gluten free pizza. Service- It was good, nothing great or special. I would give it 3.5 stars. Server seemed a bit overwhelmed, but managed to get us everything we needed. Our wait was 10 minutes longer than the quoted 15 minutes, meaning I probably should have grabbed a cocktail at the bar for the wait. Gluten Free Pizza- eek, really not that great. At all. I was rooting for this, hoping it would be a new GF option for me. I would have preferred Udi's frozen pizza crust. I got the vegetarian pizza and added pineapple. The pizza was soggy in the middle, the crust was super thin and really should have been cooked longer. I ended up eating the olives, pineapple and the crust. Major disappointment. Will not be back to eat the pizza. If there is a next time, I will try the GF chocolate chip pizookie.

My boyfriend and I went to BJs for the first time on a Friday night after work. The place was packed and there was quite a long wait. The atmosphere was great and we we super hungry and excited to have a nice dinner. We put in our names and waited patiently. After waiting about 20 minutes, a nice couple sitting in the bar area (free seating) flagged us over and asked us if we would like to take their booth because they were getting ready to leave. We gladly took the seat and handed our "buzzer" to someone else who had been waiting for a long time. We then sat in the booth for about another 15-20 minutes and watched out waiter completely ignore us. As he stopped in our area only a couple times to collect checks from a few other customers, nobody came to greet us, give us a menu, a glass of water....nothing. The seating in the bar area was pretty well ignored by him in general. All the while, the couple to whom we gave our own buzzer was now seated and enjoying their service. Very hungry and a little irritated at this point, my boyfriend walked up to the host's table, explained the situation, and if we could be placed in front of the line to be re-placed into the normal seating area. The host told him that, if we wanted, she would say something to our waiter about it but we would have to wait again if we wanted to be re-seated. To that, we just decided to leave and go somewhere where we felt our business was valued. I can't speak to the quality of food at this restaurant, I can only say how extremely disappointed and disrespected we felt when we tried to experience BJs for the first time.

Worst service EVER.... Me and my friend sent our steaks back THREE times. We ordered mid-rare 1st time came out well and the next two times came our medium. After the third time the manager told use he would not make anymore steak so we could either get a pizza or leave. NEVER AGAIN... I use to be a server and I have never seen anything like this!!! If you want BJs don't come to this one.

Horrible Service, POOR Management! If you are looking for a place to celebrate with family and friends this is NOT the place! reserved months in advance for party of 60 people. we were supposed to have a buffet for our rehearsal dinner. staff was unprepared, food did not come out on time and our guests were hungry! The Female manager there is completely INCOMPETENT, and a liar! to cover her ass and so she wouldn't get in trouble she refused to give me the number to corporate! it wasn't until i raised hell that she finally gave it to me! Do NOT go here for an event they will completely screw it up!

Great music to go with the great house brews... Radiohead, Metric... I approve! Their house blonde is great. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon but service was still fast. I like their pizza but also love that they have a lot of healthy options on the menu. I frequently get the baked Mahi-Mahi and it is excellent every time. Tried several of their house brews and liked them all.

I love this place!! Every time I am home on a break I come here at least 1 time. I am obsessed with there tomato soup in a bread bowl. So good!! I am not normally a soup person but I love it here. The top of the bread bowl is toasty with garlic and butter on it, perfect to dip in the soup. I always get it even when it is hot out. The pizza is also good here. I love the sweet pig pizza, it is the Hawaiian. Has ham and pineapple on it. I always have to save room for the Pazooki. Amazing, would doesn't love a freshly baked cookie that is still a little doughy and warm topped with ice cream . I love getting the peanut butter one.

Sat down at a table, waited 15min nobody came. My date decides to ask the hostess for help then miraculously someone came to the rescue. The waiter in this section passed by us 6 times and didn't bother to say shit to us. I love this place but seriously that was sad.

I just feel like this place has really gone down hill. Every time I come the service is poor. The food is just ok I don't like the pizza and they got rid of the mini quesadilla I liked so much. The ahi isnt very good the only good thing now are the stuffed mushrooms. The service at this location is also just terrible. Last time we went with a giftcard and I ordered the Greek pizza the menu did not say onions and I asked just in case if it came with onions. The girl said she would make sure it had no onions. Pizza comes out loaded with onions. No offer to make a new pizza. No discount on the bill. I won't be back unless I'm forced with my grandma.

My coworkers and I went out for yet another birthday lunch and decided on BJ's. The food was ok. Everyone received their food as ordered. We faxed ahead our order before making reservations. Apparently this is a no-no because we had to call and make reservations first. I faxed in the order at 9 am and immediately got a call 15 min later by a manager. He seemed irate that we didn't call to make reservations first. I would have called ahead had I known that someone would be there at the restaurant at 7:30 am. That aside, the manager confirmed the order and was good enough to agree to put names next to the entrees so as to make things easier for both parties involved. We also agreed that the food would be on the table at 12:15 and that the pazookies would be out 10 minutes later. We get to the restaurant and are taken to our seats, which were on the patio. We had a party of 21 people and yet we were seated at tables that were not put together. We were at two long tables set up side by side. My coworkers consist of mostly Asian women who dislike sunlight and wear a lot of SPF. They immediately went for tables that were in the shade away from the group because the sun was shining down on where they were supposed to sit. The next inconvenience came where the pazookies came out 25 minutes late. Following that, the bill was wrong where one of the entrees were rung up as a dinner and not lunch. I had to speak to a manager since the waiters that weren't assigned to my table weren't able to help me even though they were huddled by the registers as our waiter was busy with another set of tables. The manager adjusted it for me and we ended up leaving the restaurant later than we wanted. 3 stars for food 1 star for service = 2 stars average I've had better service at other places when it comes to large groups like this. I would think that BJ's is the type of establishment that can handle groups of this size, but even so I guess not.

Yes, I'm a fan of BJ's. Not because of their beer but because of their deep dish style crust pizza. So many places have moved towards a healthier, thin crust style pizza and it's like eating tortilla chips to me. I grew up eating pizza crusts made with lots of dough so that's just what I like. The Pizookie! The second reason I'm a fan. Ice cream served over a baked cookie. I haven't had anything else other than pizza and their Pizookies. Well, and their beer. There's so much staff walking around the place that service better be, and usually is pretty good. The place can get pretty loud - so if you're looking for some intimacy, I'd try someplace else.

I've been here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. There menu is huge with lots of different choices. The pizza's are great, piled high with your favorite toppings. They also have great salads. My son loves the deserts here. several different cookies served warm is a small pizza pan with ice cream on top. what more could you ask for?

Birthday disappointment! My family chose to take me to BJ's to celebrate my birthday. It seemed to take a long time for the food to arrive. When it did my wife's and son's meals were too cool, they brought me a pizza that was different from the one that I ordered and the forgot to make my daughters meal. The waiter did what he could for damage control, but I wasn't too cooperative. I did not feel like waiting another half hour for them to make another pizza. After my daughter's meal came we finished up and left. What I expected with this degree of multiple screw-ups in one family's order was for the manager to come over to acknowledge the matter. Never saw anyone from management. Like I said the poor waiter did what he could, but BJ's fell short. Should be zero stars.

You can easily gain a few lbs eating the food but it's good food at that. Great starters such as the chicken lettuce wraps, spinach and artichoke dip and my favorite the MARGHERITA FRESCA FLATBREAD PIZZA. The Halibut fish tacos are pretty good too. A little heavy on the sauce, but very very good tacos. Now for the beer drinkers. I recommend the Totanka Stout. I call it the adult milk shake. It's a thick dark stout. Very good. BJs I'd have to say is probably my favorite eatery right now. Great atmosphere, great for groups and big on food and alcohol selection. The only thing I would give bad marks on is the parking. Gets very busy and crowded. Good thing for them. Not so much for us. Happy eating.

Went here for happy hour last week. Good beer, quality food, and the ambiance is pretty nice. I had the stout beer that they brew and it is really good. My wife had the brown ale, also really good. For food, we had the mushroom/balsamic pizza. It really hit the spot. I have been to a lot of BJ's restaurants and this one stands out in my mind. If you haven't been, it's worth the visit!

Worst service EVER!!! We walked in and no one was at the front, even though there were 3-4 people at the table area right behind. They saw us and didn't acknowledge us until 5 minutes later, not even asking us to wait a moment. A man came to seat us in a deserted part of the restaurant and made a rude comment when he assumed my friend couldn't speak English when he heard her accent. When we were seated and our water was served, another guy came and tossed the paper napkins on the table. We only came for dessert so our waiter, Josh, took our order. Someone else served our plates. My other friend said we would be sharing so he could just set them down in the middle. He threw the plates loudly on the table and just left. Josh came to give us our bill 2 minutes into our meal! He says to take our time even though he was leaving the bill at our table. But he tries to grab the bill the next time he passes our table!! Of course there was nothing in there but the receipt because we weren't even halfway through our meal!!! He came to fill ONE persons glass of water, each time only filling halfway because he didn't have enough water with him. I've never had worse service than this ever, by every single person who 'accommodated' us. Customer service??? A joke!!! Don't bother coming here. Go to the BJs at the Tustin Marketplace.

Bernie and I wanted to try something different, as we were completely burned out of Oggi's and their quality has gone downhill. A majority of the time we utilize delivery because the twins are in bed by 7:30 and after the amount of work for feedings and baths I don't feel like picking anything up. The new BJ's in RSM doesn't delivery yet so we gave the one in LH a call. The food was great. We ordered calamari (delicious), chicken marsala (Bernie loved it and I thought it was super moist), and I had the fish and chips (very good). I know, not the diet of a guy that needs to lose the same 20 pounds for the past 3 years! One of the highlights was the serve who delivered the food. He made it a point to tell us the the 10% delivery fee went directly to him as a tip. I always thought the company kept that. I was so happy that I tipped him another 20%! The guy was so nice, and afterwards he said, "Thank you for your grace!" Super cool, or maybe I'm super sensitive because I have 2 daughters now. We will repeat.

Pizza was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted. I mentioned it to the server and she said, "Well I can get you a free dessert". Wrong answer. Customer Service 101 = The customer is always right. That goes for any business. Needless to say dont go to this BJ's location if it appears there are alot of people waiting around. This just means its over capacity and service is going to be slow.

Enjoy the location and end up eating here with good friends no and again. Not really impressed with the value in terms of food quality - but it is decent - some things they do well - order simple items - soups are good.

mmm 3.5.... I love BJs. This one was huge and seemed "high end" so we had high hopes. Service was great, but a note to management-perhaps you should hire a new kitchen staff as a kitchen crew who can't handle pressure is non conducive to you your business. The manager literally had to come up to us and every other table to apologize as they screwed up every order. in fact, they screwed up our order 3x- til we finally said "fuck it." the kitchen was "backed up" so food took forever. -the stuffed mushrooms had onions- alot. the veggie pasta with no onions- had onions -the veggie pizza with no onions- had SAUSAGE. -then the 2nd time around, the pasta was OK, but then my now sausage less pizza STILL had onions. our waiter was so mortified; we saw him write down the order so we know it wasn't his fault. They comped is for a free dessert and discounted an entree, but i think it would be better for management just to hire a new kitchen.

This is my favorite BJ's in the Orange County area. I came here with some of my co workers for a get together recently, and it was a good experience. Every time I go out to dinner with a large party (there were 11 of us) I always wonder how it's going to end up. We sat out on the covered patio....it seems like they seat all of their large parties outside on the patio. The server that we had (we actually had 2, but the first one that comes to mind...) did a good job of taking care of all of us and also splitting the bill at end between multiple cards and cash... Compared to the last time I was here, it seems like they have re-vamped their menu with quite a few new appetizers, alcoholic drinks, and entrees. The menu pretty much has something for everyone. I have never had a bad meal at BJ's...I love their deep dish pizzas (any kind, really) , the turkey cobb sandwich, barbecue chicken salad, and a few of the pasta dishes. If you are a beer/liquor fan, you will be in heaven here, since like 3 pages of their menu is strictly alcohol. And the pazookies....OMG! My group had the giant pazookie with 4 different kinds..including a new one that I didn't know they had, red velvet....you have to try a pazookie at least once in your life! Like I said, they really do have something for everyone!! This is a good place to come with a group because of that. BJ's is family friendly, and also a decent place to come for happy hour and to watch a game, since they have multiple big screen TVs in the bar area.

I came here craving Fettuccine Alfredo and pizza, but I couldn't decide between the two so I just ordered the Great White pizza (Alfredo sauce with mushrooms, garlic, seasoned tomatoes, Parmesan cheese and grilled chicken breast.) I was thinkin that this was the most genius decision I had ever made- but I was really disappointed. The pizza didn't taste like it had any of those ingredients in it except for the seasoned tomatoes. I had also ordered a root beer to guzzle with the outstanding pizza I thought I was going to have, but the drink itself wasn't even good. The soda was really syrupy and flat and didn't have any ice- it basically looked like it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be discarded. All in all- MEH! BJ's can't even get the soda right, so why come back at all.

My husband and I just moved down the street and really enjoy coming here; especially enjoy the call ahead feature. We ALWAYS get amazing service when we get Sarah (we are usually there on Friday nights) and she is great. We have a 9 month old and he loves her. She always has great suggestions, she is quick and always knows what we want...even before we do! We had another server (I think his name was Octavio) who was amazing as well. If you come during the day, it is well worth the wait to sit at the bar. Jill is quick, friendly and makes you feel like you are the only person there. Sometimes we do not get either one of them (night servers), and we have not had the best experience. Overall the staff is friendly, the food is good, and the drinks are strong. I would recommend BJ's for anyone who asks. The only reason I only give 4 stars, is the few servers we had that were not great.

This place is such a hit and miss. I've been here a few times now. Depending on the day you go, the time, where you sit, and who your server is, you can either get great service, mediocre service or bad service. Saturday night, I was the lucky recipient of a bad time. I came here to carb load the night before my half marathon run, and to watch the Standford v SC game. I scored a table in the bar area. Our server seemed half friendly enough, took our order after waiting a few minutes but that was about where the goodness ended. While waiting over 40 minutes for our food, I was lucky enough to get to listen to a group of servers behind me kind of "discussing" who has what tables and who needs to do what. It was a little confrontational and unprofessional to say the least, since I was a patron and didn't want to be privy to their issues. Anyways, about 15 minutes later, two girls were kind of going back and forth and I just hear one girl say "deal with it!" then walk away. Yay! I love having to listen to these types of conversations while watching the game and starving myself before eating. Anyways, when the food finally came out, I realize my wheat crust BBQ Chicken Pizza was not wheat, but I didn't want to wait another eternity for a corrected pizza. It also was not hot. Warm, I would say. The Basil Chicken Pesto probably was good but I hate when hot food is cold so I just shoveled huge forkfuls into my mouse and chewed and swallowed realy fast. I didn't realy get to taste it. Finally, the BBQ Chopped Cobb was good, if you like soupy salads. Not sure if and when I'll be back. I think I would rather make the drive to the next closes one in Laguna Beach. At least if I have to hear people arguing, I may witness and awesome bar fight also.

The food here is very good with a broad selection. I had the grilled fish tacos from the lunch menu which comes with a smooth avocado spread on the as well as chips and salsa. The two tacos were just the right size for lunch. They have a fine selection of proprietary microbrews. I would have given 4 stars were it not for the painfully slow service. It was not our server's fault though and the manager took 25% off our bill without asking

I've been a big fan of BJ's for many years and have eaten at quite a few of them. They are all very consistent with each other. The beers are really good. I don't drink any more, but used to come here when I did. I really enjoyed the Tatonka Stout (an Imperial Stout). The only thing I can really mark them down for is their menu. It's about 50 pages and small. It gets kind of dark in there and the menu can be a little hard to read sometimes. It also seems like the first half of the menu is drinks. Yeah, I know this is a bar, but come on, that's a lot of pages to flip through just to get to the food. Speaking of the food... wait, I'm going to skip to the desserts first. Save room for the Chocolate chip Pazooki! Repeat... Save room for the chocolate chip pazooki. And get some coffee with it. Their coffee is some of the best I have ever had! You will thank me later. I've had a lot of different things on the menu here and have really enjoyed all of it. There hasn't been an item that I have eaten yet that I didn't enjoy. The chicken fried steak is really good, but get some extra gravy because they don't seem to put enough on it. My favorite right now is the grilled pork chops with green beans and mashed potatoes. They serve it with some apples and mustard. Great combination! And their coffee goes really great with the pork (I love that combination). This is also a fun to place to come and drink and watch some games. They have a huge bar area and plenty of TVs spread around the whole restaurant. This also means that this place is loud. And I mean LOUD. So don't expect to come here for a quiet meal. They can also get packed pretty quickly, so be prepared to wait a little if you come here at a busy time.

Avg. wait is 15min to get seated on a Saturday night. They have a bar if u have no patients. Food was at avg. priced . I order some boneless buffalo sauce chicken wings for an appetizer ,and some pieces were so small . So then I order a sirloin steak with a side of Caesars salad n mashed potatoes . The salad was pretty good and so was the Mashed potatoes. The steak was alright didn't give me the OMG! Factor. The service was great , I kid you not that every time I ask the waitress for something she came right back n placed it on my table without me noticing. She was like a ninja. Oh n u must have the pazooki as a dessert they're the bomb.

Short and sweet. We got there late Sunday night (driving back from San Diego to LA), place was closing up the kitchen, but the staff welcomed us in anyways and sat us down, and several different people made sure we were taken care of in terms of getting our drinks and food to us quickly. The BJ's pizza special was great, and I had to have a pazookie cookie pizza, but only as motitvation tools to get my butt up the next hike. I am letting my body go SOFT, so I can't eat at places like BJ's too often. But when I do want to treat myself to a slice, I will get my juices going at BJs, Wait, somehow that sounds wrong..... :)

BJs has great food but unfortunately the service stinks! I have been 3 times praying for better service and it never came. Servers being rude, forgetting peoples food, taking forever to do anything. I guess I should just try take out? Until the servers learn how to serve I probably wont be back for a while.

Ate here last night with 3 of my big drinking friends! The beers are good variety and I had one. Too bad I like fitness. I had deep dish pizza which was good. Actually pretty good for a chain. The food and service were both good. The problem is that the service and food should be good. I am sorry for only 3 stars but maybee 31/2 would be better. I can quite give it 4.

I'm giving this BJ's restaurant 5 stars. Why? Because it's clean and more often than not, the food is good. The service? Eh, it's hit and miss, as with any restaurant, so I won't really factor that in. Also, the server's that i've gotten have always been nice and attentive. I've been to a many different BJ's Restaurants all over So Cal and this one is by far my favorite. Even the bathrooms are nice!

There's only so many places you can go with your two kids in tow that has pretty good drinks and fairly decent food. I swear I need a break from Island's! So, on the recommendation of a friend with kids the same age as mine (8 & 10), we headed off to BJ's. I was lucky/smart/naive enough to call before we left and got on the call-ahead wait list, which I highly recommend. We were seated pretty quickly on a Friday night, which is practically unheard of. Our service was great, even with the "I'm going on my break now so Sue will be taking over" speech. There really was something for everyone. My husband was feeling extra gluttonous so he ordered the chicken fried steak. Everyone at the table was asking for multiple bites. It was good and not gristly like most CFS I've had. I hunkered down with some decent grilled chicken and rice and the kids got the ever-popular chicken fingers and pizza. All around good. As for the drinks, a decent poor - which is really all I ask. It doesn't have to take the barnacles off my hull, just not taste completely like mixer. The real kicker was when the manager came up and said she had one-too many deserts in the back and asked if we'd like one on the house. Well, hells yes! So they brought out this massive cookie in a pizza pan topped with ice cream and all kinds of goodness. We were like jackals at a fresh kill. We backed in a crane to get my husband out of the booth after CFS & spaceship cookie desert, then headed out. All-in-all a really good experience. BJ's has been added to the approved dining list.

The stuffed mushrooms are ridiculously good! I'm addicted. Great beer selection. The pizza is obviously good but all of the other menu options are pretty good considering the big thing is pizza! I've eaten here so many times in the past few months that it's time to write a review. I can't say I've sampled much off this menu because they have a great lunch special: a personal pizza & salad for $6! This is such a great deal, not only because it's cheap and enough to fill up my stomach, but because together this lunch special costs less than ordering the pizza by itself! How can you beat that? I guess they make up for the cheap special by charging $2.50 for an iced tea. REALLY? Come on... I know it's bottomless but isn't that a bit steep? I've started to order water instead. Being from the Boston area I'm not typically a deep dish kinda girl, but the way the crust is cooked, crispy on the outside and really soft on the inside, definitely works for me. They don't over sauce the pizza, either. In fact, they usually add chunky tomatoes; although, I ask for them to remove those. I'm not a big fan of chunky tomatoes on my pizza. So my pizza is pepperoni with no chunky tomatoes, and this is one of the only places that I don't have to ask for extra cheese. The pepperoni is always in abundance and is usually cooked just right. Every once in a while the cheese tastes funny, or the pizza just doesn't look or taste right though. They have a few choices for salads: house salad, lettuce wedge, and Caesar. I order the regular house salad, bacon added, with the creamy garlic dressing. They charge extra for the bacon, even though it comes included with the lettuce wedge option, and I usually ask for no onions. Can't they just do a trade? :-D The creamy garlic dressing isn't overly garlic'y; although, I love garlic so really wouldn't mind. The lettuce is always fresh, as are the other ingredients that comprise your typical house salad. My only complaint here is that the added bacon isn't always cooked thoroughly. Considering it's an option for the lettuce wedge, you would think they would have cooked it ahead of time instead of it looking like an afterthought. I would love to say that BJs is always consistent, but every once in a while something is a bit off, as described above. In general though, I don't hold it against them because most of the time they're spot on. And the price for the iced tea? Ridiculous. In general, BJs delivers an inexpensive lunch that's enough to fill my belly that's usually very tasty. I'll definitely be back again and again.

I have been here several times and have liked it a lot. The food is good, lots of choices and the pizza alone is great, if you like the deep dish kind. I dont drink so I am no expert on the beer selection, but my hubby likes them all and says it is a good selection. The Pizooki alone is an experience - who wouldnt like a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven with vanilla ice cream melting on top? It is always good.

I continue to remain loyal to all the BJ's because they do two things very well. Great pizza - love the deep dish BJ's supreme. Great beer - I don't drink a lot of beer but when I have a couple I want them to have some substance - not watered down like some big brand beers. In particular their Jeremiah Red is simply fantastic. You can have just a couple of Jeremiah Reds and life is good. Not too filling and has really good flavor. There service has dropped off over the past year, not certain why, but when brought to their attention the manager immediately made good on the bad experience as hence I remain a loyal fan. Great place and good people.

I love BJ's. but not on my last visit on May 6, 2012. The waitress must have been new as she walked around like a zombie. Our table was the closest to the kitchen ... she walked out with our water, passed our table, served others, talked to a complaining nearby table and then... dropped the water off. She barely took our order, NEVER cleared our table (she passed by our table as mentioned we were closest to the kitchen). Food came out about 30 minutes later, my ribeye, which I never order steak unless at a steakhouse, was luke warm, cold veggies, daughter's order was messed up and hubby's food was luke warm. She brought my plate back ... and nuked it! At that point, since we all worked over 10 hours ourselves at our family biz (also hospitality) I just let it go. Disappointed to say the least.

The only reason this I give this place three stars is because of their pizza. The pizza here is the only reason I bother to return. (Can't go wrong with the barbecue chicken, if you're into that.) The other menu items I've tried have always been alright, but nothing to write home about. Maybe I need to indulge in some of that bruschetta all these other Yelpers are talking about... Anyway, my personal advice is to throw any diet plans to the wind, turn straight to the pizza page of the menu, and order away. You won't be dissapointed. What you will be dissapointed with (most likely) is the service. Granted, I have only ever visited this place on Friday or weekend nights, but the service is ridiculously SLOW. You should only plan on seeing your waiter once every 20 to 30 minutes, so if you want a second drink with your dinner... plan ahead.

I love BJs food, but ALL the male servers are COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT and about 30% of the female servers. Ask for Cheyenne (Cheyanne?) or her sister for top of the line service.

I have to be honest and say that I don't normally care for the service that I receive at this restaurant. However, I attended a birthday party on Thursday with at least 20 people in the party. The service that we had was AWESOME especially with the amount of people that we had and our server also had no problem with splitting all our checks. I decided to try something different and ordered the Cobb Salad, I wasn't very impressed. So I think I'll just stick to my usual next time.

I wish there were different stars for different categories: Food: 5/5 stars... Food is always awesome here Service: 0/5!!!!! BJ's food is always great. However, I recently had a horrible experience there. My grandfather's food was accidentally sent to the wrong table. So while the rest of us ate, he didn't. The manager did come out and apologize, gave him a free cup of soup etc etc. That's not even the bad part. After our meal, I took my grandmother to the restroom. I had to push her on her walker since she is blind and can't walk well. Our table was on the patio so I had to go back into the restaurant. Not ONCE did an employee offer to open the door for me (both the patio door or the restroom door). On our way to the bathroom, employees kept walking right in front of me, no "excuse me," "pardon me," etc. So unbelievably rude!!! I was appalled. Later when I called to make a complaint because I was so upset and the manager was unavailable so I left my contact info. I have yet to receive a call back and it's been over 3 weeks. Just adding salt to the wound, that's all I'm saying.

This is my favorite type of pizza- tall, greasy and lots of crust! Their sweet pig with jalapenos is to die for. Their Santa fe chicken salad is excellent and their pizookie is one of the best ways to end a meal. They loose one star because service and customer service is lacking so badly. I would eat there so much more often if I felt they had better service.

BJ's is fucking delicious! Yea yea, I seem to be on a corporate, culinary tour. Fuck it, it was great and I'll sing it from the rooftops! Something smelled a lil funny & I started to bacteria-trip over the sticky menus. Regardless of those issues, I enjoyed my sliders! My strawberry lemonade was a real strawberry lemonade, not just that syrupy mess they dump in lemonade, but real blended, tasty strawberries in a tall, chilled glass of lemonade. I think we all expected it to be pretty mediocre food here, so when it surpassed our expectations, it blew our mother fucking minds. Our waitress had the cutest, raspy voice and was super friendly. Her friendliness was genuine and she was on top of the refills and additional needs. Lots of American Psycho look alikes at this location. Good ole corporate eye-candy.

I like coming to BJs because it's easy in the sense that there's a broad menu and there's something for everyone here. I always have a good time when I sit up at the bar, but this last week I came in for lunch with a friend from college and sat at a table. Service was horrible. I ordered a glass of wine and both times it came out, the wine glass was completely dirty and gross. I work in restaurant... it's standard to polish wine glasses after washing them. I had ordered clam chowder to start, which was ok. I wish it came out with crackers (not sure if it's supposed to and the food runner forgot or if they don't offer them). We waited almost 30 minutes for our lunch to come after we finished our soup (which we ordered at the same time as the soup)... which isn't that big of a deal because we were catching up but if I was in a hurry since it was lunch time I would have been in trouble. I had ordered the half salad and flatbread off of the lunch menu, and asked to sub it with a ceasar salad and a side of ranch for the flatbread. They brought it out with a standard house salad with no dressing on it and no side of ranch. The server never came by to check how the food was, so I just sucked it up. But eating lettuce and carrots with no dressing is gross... I'm not that healthy. Also, throughout service our waitress took my friend's order and would begin to walk away without taking my own (this includes drinks and food). I get that he's good looking, but sweetheart I was hungry too! And I'm the good tipper... I work in the industry. Only reason why I'm giving a 2nd star is because she didn't stop smiling, which I always appreciate.

OK, it was catered for an office luncheon, so that may have contributed. I had a turkey club and crispy thin fries. The fries were the worst I ever had. They were cold, greasy, anything but crispy. The sandwich was three pieces of very thick bread, lots of turkey, and cut in quarters. It was of course not lined up pieces of bread, so it was impossible to pick up to eat being in four small triangles. There is nothing I can think of to say good about the lunch I had. Next time someone chooses B.J.'s ... I'll bring a frozen Lean Cuisine dinner ... they are much better quality, better flavor, and more enjoyable. Sorry BJ's, but you totally bombed out.

I'm not crazy about BJ's pizza, their crust doesn't do it for me. The toppings are not that impressive, either. I'd rather go to Oggi's in Mission Viejo for pizza. I like but don't love the pizookie here. The service is all right but not memorable.

I tend to like brewhouses, but this one left me underwhelmed. I had a fried chicken sandwich. The bread was soggy and the lettuce leaf on it had been dead for many, many days. Seriously, it was brown. The one standout: the iceberg wedge. I don't normally get this sort of salad, but I guess this is one of those things they do well, and I was lucky enough to order it on a recommendation from a friend. It was crispy and delicious. I could have used some of that lettuce on my other dish....

We went here today for our holiday team lunch. Yup, we postponed it until after year-end madness was over. Looks like we survived. The lunch special I had today was really cheap - $5.95 for a one-topping pizza with a side salad. My glass of strawberry lemonade cost $2.75, although it didn't really taste like lemonade. It was drinkable, though. We got here at 12 PM and the 8 of us got seated right away without having to call in ahead of time. The service was good - our server came by every so often to re-fill our drinks and ensure we were all doing well. The lunch specials are really a bang for your buck, though. I've never gone here for lunch before, so I was pleasantly surprised. Still, I probably wouldn't come here outside of company festivities because it is located near Leisure... er... Laguna Woods Village. Hehe!

The beer here is amazing, I love the options and flavor profiles of all of them. That being said, I can't really say much else positive about this place. It used to be much better, better food, better service, and better ambiance. Now of days though it is just slightly below average. The last few times that I have been here it's been fairly bad, but tonight it was so bad that I decided to write a review. When we walked in, we were greeted promptly and taken to a really small table for 2 adults and a toddler. Our waiter came over about 6 minutes later and walked us through a rehearsed spiel that sounded very robotic. We ordered soup and drinks and said we needed a minute more to select our entrees and off he went. He came back about 5 minutes later with the drinks and we gave our order. About another 6 minutes passed and we got our cold soup (presented beautifully by the way). I swear to god my chicken tortilla soup had 2 pieces of chicken in it for $6. Our food came out about 10 minutes later - My wife's and mine that is, they forgot the food for my son. I had to ask them where it was, and it was blatantly obvious they forgot. When they brought it they STILL didn't bring his drink, and even when I got his drink they STILL didn't give me the water I ordered 3 times. To wrap this up my food was sub-par, pasta was almost crunchy raw and again for $14 I expected a little more than 5 ounces of chicken. T finish up the meal we ordered 2 pizookies and got 1 and the check, odd. Just in case you are thinking it was slammed, we got there at 4:45pm. I'll go back to drink their delicious beer but I do not think that I will be dining at BJ's again.

Firstly I'll start off by saying that this place is probably in my book more of a 3.5 leaning more toward a 4.0 just like the average dictates. Sadly tonight though, I'm going to give it an initial 3.0 from my part. I had been here a few times and the food is always great and just like tonight the pizza does not disappoint. It reminds me of a pizza chain that existed in the 80's called Numero Uno Pizza. I used to go to Numero Uno as a teen with my family and the pizza was great. Nice thick buttery dough with high quality ingredients. BJ's is much like that, great tasting rich dough with fresh ingredients. For a Monday the place was not all that busy but the service was pretty slow, even for me. We don't ask for much and we actually enjoy not being asked every 5 mins if everything is o.k. but there was definitely a delay between visits. All in all though it's a good place for a reasonable meal. It was just an off night, I might upgrade the review at a later time.

  • Maria T.

I'm sure the service and food, is, well, typical of the hundred of BJ's out there... but in good conscience, I must warn you of one thing: THEY HAVE THE MOST SLIPPERY, DANGEROUS, UNFRIENDLY FLOORS, EVER. I nearly crashed and burned, not once, but twice because of how slippery the floors are. At first I thought it was just me in my pumps, but then I found out everyone in my group, including men in rubber flip flops--were slipping on the floors and having near-death experiences. This is a total lawsuit waiting to happen! I don't know who the genius was that decided that slippery black tile would be good in a restaurant where spills happen regularly, but if I could give out a 'bonehead' award, it would be to that guy. I really hope they fix it, because good pizza tastes best when served without a concussion.

A-OKAY. That's the perfect word to describe this place. This place is located right next to the Laguna Hills mall, facing the street, so it is very convenient and easy to find. Like everyone said, this place is HUGE! Impressive, but it also SUCKS at the same time. Why? Because our waiter was MIA for almost the whole night.. Lame. He was waiting on too many tables for his own good. He also made a noticeable amount of mistakes: got my order wrong, my drink was empty for 20 minutes because he never came to check on us, OH and when he did come back to refill my Sprite, he poured ice water.. :( Fail. Up side? They have so many things on their menu to choose from. And the food we ordered was pretty good. It also came in a pretty good amount of time. Also, the server APOLOGIZED (sincerely!) and comped a bunch of the stuff off our bill. So, that was nice. I'm actually a huge fan of BJ's and their infamous PIZOKIES! I'm usually very impressed with them, but this certain one was just not up-to-par.

I am a server at Bjs (soon to be ex-server). I will be perfectly honest about Bjs. It's a great atmosphere, and quality food for a great price. But I think that some of the guest go in there with expectations a little too high. Bjs is one of the more busier restaurants out there. So when you do visit. Expect a wait and expect a noisy atmosphere. Service may be a little slow at times. But the servers have two hand just like everyone else and MOST servers try their absolute best to accommodate every guests needs. Sometimes its just TOO busy. Bjs tries to exude the "fine dining" experience, but when it comes down to it..we serve pizza a beer. So if your looking for a casual laid back dining experience. Than Bjs is for you, but if not I suggest you find somewhere else.

I come with the parental units when I'm visiting town. It's the best of the BJ's I've had, uh, visited. They really know how to blow your mind! With pizza. And tazaki, suzaki, pizaki??? You know, the ice cream and cookie thing that can't be called an "Ice Cream and Cookie Thing."

When I first arrived the hostess was on her cell phone and told me her shift was over so I should "go seat myself". After finally being seated by someone I ordered a turkey sandwhich without meat, which is what I usually order. They brought my sandwhich with bacon on it so I sent it back. Then they brought out another wrong sandwhich with the wrong bread and no cheese. The manager and waiter both came over and gave me this look like I was the crazy one and said "but that sandwhich comes with meat". I dont understand why they couldnt make a simple sandwhich. I told them dont bother trying to fix it again and I just wanted my check so I could go eat somewhere else. They had the nerve to charge me full price for the sanwhich that I couldnt eat because they made it wrong twice!

I've been to Chicago and eaten the real deal. I honestly don't see how BJ's can call themselves Chicago style pizza! They're nothing alike!!!! With that being said, I LOVED their avocado/cream cheese/sun-dried tomato fried egg rolls with a tamarind dipping sauce. Soooo addicting. Their pizzookie is also really yummy. I would return just to eat those and skip the horrible pizza!

Every time I take my family here, we love the food. Great thick crust thick with toppings - the server can tell what you ordered just by looking at your pizza. We enjoy the chocolate chip pizookies and also enjoy the bustling atmosphere. It's not always perfect of course, we waited overlong for our desserts, but we'll keep coming back. Also - do try the Black Velvet Guiness and Berry-Burst cider, a mouth watering combo.

I went yesterday around 2:00 for lunch with a girlfriend. We happen to get there early enough to have lunch and a drink. We sat at the bar as we always do for a late lunch. We had the sweetest bartender who was chatty but still very attentive to her guests and also getting her stuff done. I was shocked to get our bill and it was $11 and change for a salad, pizza and a drink (of course alcohol). I know right now with the economy hurting EVERYONE is running specials and we will definitely be visiting again. They run lunch specials till 3:00. . . check it out! The only reason I marked it 4 stars is due to the two at the front (host & cashier) looked up at us as we walked in the door, said nothing as they looked at us blankly and then proceeded to jump back into their convo. Same thing as we left. . .I hate being neglected. Insert sad face here.

Okay, so came here for a drink the other night. Took a while to get the first drink, despite the bar not being very busy. We were very close to leaving before the first drink. The clientele looked to be pretty solid middle-aged wastrels. Nothing interesting here. Can't really understand why anyone would choose to get drunk here when you could get drunk in the parking lot. Or at home.

Last week, after a particularly busy schedule, we stopped in at BJ's for dinner on Valentine's day. I was pleasantly surprised that we were quickly seated, and totally surprised at the menu options ! I made a selection of an item I had never tried, and it was very tasty and well prepared. The service was excellent, and prompt. I look forward to going back again soon and trying some of the other items on the menu that looked so appealing.

Normally I LOVE BJs, but I went in this location the other night with 6 other family members and had a horrible experience. We were seated at a centrally located table but were completely ignored for 20 minutes before we finally had to flag someone down. Then two or three servers came over at different times to tell us they weren't really sure who would be handling our table, but one of them took our drink orders. The circus continued until one server was finally assigned to our table. We were now a good 30 minutes into this little fiasco and we had a three year old with us, who was hungry and beginning to get tired. Our food came out, and before the waitress even put my sister's pizza on the table, she said the kitchen messed up and had to make a new pizza. 20 more minutes. I still love BJs....but I will never go back to this one.

This is hands down the BEST place for a gluten free pizza! We go every few weeks and we've never had a bad meal. Yes, sometimes there is a wait but once we are seated the service is always fast and excellent. It isn't the cheapest place for us to go since my husband orders a regular pizza and I order a gluten free pizza, but it's so good that I could care less. The gluten free cookie is also delicious! I'm currently pregnant so I haven't been able to indulge in a gluten free beer with my pizza just yet, but I am very much looking forward to that moment. I don't know of any other place where someone who is gluten free can go to enjoy such a delicious gluten free pizza and beer with friends. Thank you BJs for being at the forefront!

Restaurant was spacious and clean. We didn't have to wait long for a table and we got a giant booth for the 5 of us. We had plenty of room. We ordered the avocado egg rolls. They were delicious and the dipping sauce was very tasty as well. I also split a pizza with my cuz. The food came quickly and the servers were attentive. I've been going to BJs all over so cal for years now. The service and food never disappoints. Thanks BJs!!

It's definitely not health food, but sometimes you just need a 1,500 calorie sandwich and a 700 calorie side salad. Oh, and crispy fries. Plus pizzokie. I really appreciate this particular location because a group of moms and I have been trying to meet for lunch once a week. The servers are always very accommodating of us and our four strollers. They don't sigh when we all order water (oh, the sad life of a nursing mom) and they don't groan when we ask to split the check. They take great care of us, so we keep coming back.

Another one of those suburban family oriented chains that knows their target audience. I have no issues with these types of restaurants as long as the food is solid and it's executed well. BJ's is definitely one of those businesses. Came here on a Friday night with some friends that are somewhat picky eaters and they suggested it since there is basically something for everyone (a near vegan, carnivore, and omnivore). The wait was an expected 30 min, but since this is a full bar and brewpub it was easy to grab some drinks, converse, and catch up, since we hadn't seen each other in a while. Of the locations I've been to, it seems each one is architecturally unique, although the major construction elements are similar across the locations. Lots, of brick, wood, glass and metal adorn the very industrial pub design. Menus are quite large, spanning pizza, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, steaks, and are pretty much consistent across the locales. Since I have a BJ's near where I live I had already settled on my Roast Beef French Dip Sandwich and Fries that I normally get. My friends had a Cheeseless Veggies Pizza w Extra Sauce and the Fish and Chips. Everything was pretty tasty and the portions though not enormous were definitely above average. Service was friendly and definitely bustling since the amount of people they drive through an hour is pretty high. Solid eats and brews, good for groups, and definitely good people watching (this is a Laguna after all).

A fun place to go with friends or family and watch a game and grab some chicago style pizza. If your not a fan of pizza they offer an extended menu with many different types of food. The burgers here a very good if your carving one. If you want a starter try the avocado egg rolls their really good. After your meal make sure to save room for their famous Pazookie, a fresh undercooked cooked warm cookie with ice cream on top

I love the food but the restaurant is noisy and not the atmosphere I would like to enjoy my lunch/dinner in, so most of the time we get our food to go. Now for the problem, while the food is good we have a 50/50 chance it will be warm and the last time we ordered, the fries did not appear to be cooked. So when the food is warm (and cooked) it is great but eating a meal from BJs is a crapshoot - of course this won't stop us because they have a couple unique dishes that other restaurants do not offer (and we must satisfy the occasional craving).

*GLUTEN FREE REVIEW In short the 3 stars are for the limited options of gluten free foods. The quality of the food and menu is extensive for customers who don't have the specific allergy I have, and the food was cooked to my liking and my mother will not allergies LOVES this place. My mother and I ate dinner here last night and I have nothing to rave about but I wasn't disappointed. To start off it is always really nice when a location recreates a menu for gluten free customers, which BJs does. The menu doesn't have many gluten free substitutes but there are options. The menu consisted primarily of soups, salads, and meat. My mom, who is not gluten free, ordered a salad and loved it. She has a full second meal from the leftovers. I ordered a sirloin with my two sides as the tomato bisque soup and broccoli. I asked for the soup prior to my meal which was no problem and it was DELICIOUS. I'm not sure if this was intentional or just by chance but the soup was perfect temperature. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but it drives me nuts when soups arrive WAY to hot to eat. The steak was cooked perfect, medium rare to my liking, but taste wise wasn't much different from any other steak I've ordered. Broccoli is, well, broccoli. For dessert my mother and I shared a gluten free pizookie which was really good and amazing that they had a gluten free option. Again, all in all, I can't RAVE about the dinner, primarily because I am now gluten free. I know if I had eaten here before my gluten allergy came about I would be SO thrilled with all the menu options!! Gluten allergies are a tough one. I would come back here, but not frequently due to the small menu option for my allergy, which is why I gave 3 instead of 4 stars. They do also have gluten free beer, which isn't common in most restaurants.

Disappointed with our trip to BJ's tonight. We usually love going here. We love the pizza and the handcrafted root beer. Tonight the pizza was great, but the root beer didn't have the same great flavor. The staff left much to be desired. The waitress who took our drink order was quick and responsive. The server over our area was very friendly, but did not stop by very often. When our pizza came they didn't bring plates and we waited for almost 5 minutes for them to bring some. By then the pizza was barely warm. We finished off dinner with a pizookie that came to our table after a very long wait and the cookie wasn't even warm. We will be trying a different location next time. No one goes to spend that much money for cold food.

First time ever coming here and having a horrible experience, well bad experience. From being seated to the check. When being seated we were seated at a table that still has water and food on it, plus a fork underneath, so I asked to sit at the table next to it. No one came to clean the table or grab the fork. And another group was seated there and stated 'oh there's a fork here.' We ordered our appetizer, chicken potstickers, and wanted to order our meal but our server just walked off to input the order. So we sat and waited. Once getting out potstickers both my cousin and I were so excited yet very disappointed as soon as we bit into them. They were cold and the plates were dirty. So we returned them and asked for a new set. Well out main course came out before we got our new order of potstickers. We were told 'they were given to a different table.' Out main courses were delicious and great temperature. But then again once we got our potstickers, they were cold again. Plus on top of it all I had to ask for a refill on my water that had been gone before my meal arrived. Then when refilling our waters our server almost spilt the whole pitcher on my cousin. Also I overheard the table next to us (dirty table) return one of there meals because a tomato bisque was brought out and not chili. So did our server piss off the kitchen? Was he just not having a good day? Or was someone screwing with him? Either way misfortunate events happen. But I'm still butt-hurt about my potstickers. We were SO excited. I'm sad that it was such a bad experience.

Just got off of a long server shift and decided to go to Bj's to enjoy a sit down dinner and a beer with my girlfriend . Got the Bm porter, delicious, not a fan of many restaurant brewed beer, but it was perfectly balanced. The food was delightful, the bleu cheese burger was great, the bleu cheese wasn't too potent, wasn't too weak, another perfect balance. My girlfriend got the gluten free pizza, she enjoyed it. And to top it all off the gluten free pazooki was amazing with the vanilla bean gelato/ice cream. Highly recommended, can't tell its gluten free The best part of the night was the 'A' level service provided by Chance, rocking the man bun, very friendly and accommodating. Whoever the server was assisting him was also phenomenal. Unfortunately Bj's no longer carries their lemon chicken pasta. But the burger made up for it. Overall a very pleasant experience, will be back soon to request, Chance as my server!

This place was poppin' on a Saturday. I was already grumpy since I was hungry, so walking up to the doors i thought it was gonna be a long wait. Fortunately for a table of 3 we only waited about 10 min. Thank goodness! The restaurant was packed with people of large parties, but surprisingly all the servers and hosts were very positive and friendly. I definitely felt like everything was under control. The food was pretty good. Had calamari as an appetizer (very tender, delicious) my dad order his usual rack of ribs (meat falling off the bones) mom ordered a salad (its a salad), and I got a BBQ Chicken deep dish pizza (it did its job). Overall very satisfied with the service, especially during peak hours on a Saturday. The food was good, and we had no complaints whatsoever.

I'm a regular here and ordered my usual tonight, a bjs brewhouse burger with thin fries. I picked it up t go tonight instead. I payed on the app and had it set to be ready at 1015. I got there at 1010 and it was ready in a warmer type thing. I drove home (5 minutes), opened up the box, and saw that the food was soggy. The fries were very soggy and like rubber and the bun of my burger was as well. I'm not sure how long it was sitting there (I ordered it around 945, I was at work), but it was terrible, and inedible. I through it away. Never had dissapointed me until now! No more take out for me! It would have been one star but the cashier was friendly.

One-star service for our dinner party of 6 - beer glass was brought 5 minutes after the bottle of beer, our entrees came out over a span 20 minutes, they forgot our side salad and then brought two, waters were left empty, and we were charged for two bottles of wine instead of one. If you can't handle switching servers halfway through a service without causing chaos, don't do it!! Food would have been three stars: flavors were ok, but don't advertise salmon on quinoa then bring pearl couscous and think nobody will notice - this is Orange County, we know our superfoods ;) I've always loved BJ's as a go-to group place but this trip was a dud.

Everything was great until I received my food. I order the same thing every time California flatbread no tomatoes blackened chicken. When my flatbread came out it had tomatoes and I asked for it to be adjusted. Food runner did not seem happy and my food came back a minute later. Flatbread was covered in ranch and could still see some of the tomatoes that were scrapped off. Server never asked anything till the end of meal. I was a server at a corporate resteraunt and rarely say anything but this was ridiculous.

"Who's on First? What's on Second?" "I don't know who's on third" That about sums up the service today. Came in after church about 12:00. The restaurant seemed quiet with customers seated in various spots. This is a big restaurant so we could only surmise that they were accommodating about ten servers by allocating customers per station. OK, we can play.........While being escorted to the patio our host stopped and said "you can sit anywhere you want. It's a free world" so we sat..........apparently in the wrong area. Waited about 10 minutes for someone to notice that we have been ignored and to stop and give us menus and take a drink order. One minute later another server stopped to take our drink order. Five minutes later yet another server stopped to tell us our drinks were about ready. We went from zero to hero in about 8 minutes! Bloody Mary's were poor at best Most likely this was because they were Brunch Specials for $4.00. The lunch, however, was quite good. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken salad and BF had the jalapeno burger. Food was fresh and tasty with abundant portion sizes. All in all a decent albeit comical experience.

Ok so who hasnt been to BJs? My parents love to come here and I tolerate it as I found a great item for myself on the menu. it is a typical BJs chain shop. You get the typical corporate food servers and order takers. They work like robots most of the time delivering you decent but not outstanding food and service. Perhaps it is just efficient for the most part. Regardless of the number of check ins I have here, I have about 15 that I can think of off the top of my head... Pro Tip: Try the pizza, BJ's beers, and the Maui Glaze porkchop from the light menu. I have been getting the Maui Glazed porkchop the last few times that I have been here. Sadly my daughter steals about 1/2 or 1/4 of my meal and I dont get to steal back from her as she almost always gets mac n cheese... *SMH* kids... like you had no clue she would get that? haha None the less its decent for what it is and i enjoy eating here for the most part... im still not thrilled about the overall experience, but its better than most chains, so i will eat here, but primarily it is for my parents happiness as they enjoy most chains and that means this one...

Came to drink and we did! We were seated in the bar in the corner which was great because it wasn't that loud. The atmosphere was good but the drinks were better. I got the Tinkled Pink! It was very fruity!

Moderate - sized BJ's restaurant (offering American cuisine; salads, burgers, pasta, and beer!) located on El Toro Rd next to a tire shop & Laguna Hills Mall. They have a fair amount of parking space but it always seems busy. I came here for lunch with my husband and friends on a Saturday. Food prices/portions/taste were reasonable/meh but nothing memorable. Their drinks & service were disappointing though - our drinks tasted either watered down or way too strong, and our waitress seemed like she couldn't be bothered by our attempts to flag her down. She seemed like she was walking around with blinders on, completely oblivious to the 4 of us who were all flailing our arms around, trying to catch her attention. She didn't even offer us any water cups!! :( ***NOTE: Like most restaurants, their alcoholic drinks & appetizers are a rip-off! I recommend sharing multiple main dishes & saving some room for dessert as their pizookies are DELISH.

Nice huge restaurant. Menu though large is limited in the heathy selections. I do not like deep dish and the thin crust tastes more like matzo crackers softened. Beer selection seems small for a brewery. Or maybe I didn't see the whole menu for beers. Mediterranean pizza was salty from the Kalimata. Had major gas next day from the pizza.

I would recommend not going to happy hour with food in mind. As an afterthought perhaps, but just that. Basically, the offerings are not at all good. Drinks: $5 cosmos is not a bad deal, and they tasted okay, but came out unchilled. That was strange but, again, not bad. The lemon drop martini was basically lemonade with no hint of noticeable alcohol, so scary if you don't know it's in there. Gin martini was okay too, but kind of meh. Sliders: plain little burgers. Not bad, but not special either. Kind of boring, with lettuce and pickles on the side. The fries that came with them weren't bad. Calamari: $10.25. Not on the happy hour menu, but we ordered it because we like calamari. It was all tender and good, but the batter was only a little crispy on the tentacled pieces. The rest of them had soft batter, like they had been sitting out for quite some time. The tartar sauce was pretty good, but I didn't care for the warm marinara sauce. Southwestern spring rolls: Why is it that anything around here that has "southwest" in it's description has the exact same flavor no matter what it is? These looked great, and were fried to a nice crispiness, but I took one bite and put it back. Cumin anyone? Blah. Mini pizzas: Doughy, not at all hot. How can you make a fresh pizza and have it come out with cheese that's already congealed and separated from the ingredients underneath? Why aren't the tomato bits and sausage fused with the cheese? We had both a pepperoni and sausage and a BJ special. Both were pretty bad. I think they must do a pre-thing to them for happy hour. The pepperoni and sausage were both standalone bland. I've been to BJ's other times, not for the happy hour, and I don't recall not liking anything before. In this case I really didn't like much of anything, except for the calamari, which wasn't really that good either. On the pizza, we agreed that Little Caesar's was better (I don't like Little Caesar's), and you get a whole pizza there for the same price as this tiny, soft, miserable thing. Not to knock BJs as a whole, but don't expect good eats for happy hour. Go for the drinks, and order from the regular menu for food.

I love this location. It's spacious, clean, inviting, and the staff is always very friendly. Let's just highlight something that happened on my last vist: I came here over the holidays & was excited to see that they had their special year end brew. I ordered a glass, & the waiter came back shortly after saying that with my pour they had exhausted their keg. I was bummed. THEN he said as an apology, he got the clearance to give me an individual bottle & the accompanying glass that comes with it...for free! So I ended up getting the half pour they got out of the keg PLUS an extra bottle. That's what I'm talking about! And it's things like that that make me love this location over other BJs.

A few years ago I went to this Laguna Hills restaurant for a business dinner, and all five of us had a bad experience with food quality and service. I wrote to the restaurant Manager twice and received no reply. I wrote to Corporate and also received no reply. It's bad enough if you have a bad dinner and experience, but when you bring business people there it is an embarrassment! Last week I went to the Irvine location and had a pleasant experience and when I mentioned my past experience they suggested that I contact the restaurant Manager again. I again wrote twice and received no reply. The moral of the story is, this chain is not inexpensive nor the best when you expect decent service, and the Laguna Hills restaurant should be avoided at all cost.

We sat at the bar when we came for lunch. I ordered the shrimp scampi with linguini and my daughter had the Mac and cheese with fresh fruit. For dessert we got two mini Pizookies. My shrimp scampi was good but I felt it was over priced. Specially since I asked for the lunch portion. Service was okay and not great. I have one complaint and that is my daughter and I were served the same dessert and yet I got charged more for the exact same thing. Not cool.

Got here after a long shift at 10:45. Hours say they're open until midnight... Just an FYI they aren't. Just went here 1) only bar seating available 2) waiter comes and says last call because they close in 10 mins (pressures us to order) 3) only happy hour available which offered very limited food. This pretty much forced us to leave and all we wanted was a dessert. Advice, if your hours say you close at a certain time don't close early. I am a server, I know it sucks having people come in so late, but if someone walks in at 11:58 and we close at 12:00 we have to serve them. Won't be going back for awhile.

Restaurants overall I would give a 3 1/2 star rating. This location it's a one based on the service and the food. Starting with the drinks. The beer came out warm and flat. It seems as though it was sitting at the bar for about four minutes before it was brought to the table. This made the beer not a very pleasant drink and I ask the server to have it replaced The food. For a party of seven, two of the items came out were in edible. The thin crust pizza was called in the steak was rare when ordered medium. The server took the food to the back and brought it out after being cooked some more. The pizza was now as hard as a cracker and jokingly, I balanced a knife on one side while holding the other and it did not bend or break. The steak was still cooked rare. The server brought out some french fries to hold us over while the food is a remade. These were also overcooked and taste burnt. They were darker than the other french fries on the table from another order. The server was friendly and you can tell she was genuinely embarrassed about the chaos that was going on with the kitchen and the bar Overall the restaurant get to one, food gets a one, it's one, server gets a three which equals a one star for this place

Why does BJS always have consistently bad service? We came here for a birthday and our server Jorge C could not have been more rude. We didn't order drinks so maybe he didn't take us seriously. We were also the only non white table, so maybe that's why. My boyfriend and I ordered appetizers, and he cut us off and left before anyone else could even order. Seriously. He didn't even bother to ask if anyone else wanted anything. Then, he spilled water on our table and didn't apologize. We always had to flag him down when we needed something, and when he did come around, he always seemed irritated and had a permanent scowl on his face. IF I WAS THE JOKER, I WOULD PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE OF YOURS! He was always smiling and joking around with all the other tables, so I guess he just doesn't like mixed race tables. Prick. Then when it was time to order dessert, my friend asked to see a menu. He tossed the little triangle that's already at the tables at her and said that's all they have, which is NOT true because they only had pizookies featured on there. So I told him we wanted to see a regular menu because we wanted something other than pizookies. Finally we were fed up so we told the manager what happened, and she also did not care at all. She just started at us with a confused look on her face. Worst management I've ever encountered. It's no wonder he's such a terrible server! His own manager does not care about customer service! Needless to say, everyone regretted coming here for dinner and left in a terrible mood. Poor birthday boy!

Something's happened to this place and it is really bad. DIRTY plates, glasses, utensils. RUDE service. Food just sits there until it gets cold before they bring it out to you. Do you like cold pizza you've been waiting a long time for already? Nope, me either. So annoying. I'm never going back.

Why does this place smell like vomit? No joke, when you walk in the stench punches you in the face - I should have known and just left right then. Ordered 2 salads, both came out and the dressing wasn't on the side like we specifically asked for. Brought to the servers attention and he got all fussy that he had to have the salads remade even though we made it very clear about dressing on the side. It's like, hide the fact that you're annoyed like a smart person instead of showing your frustration so your tip isn't compromised...duh! Get it together, BJ's. And FIX THAT SMELL!

I love this place! The food is great and so far our waiters have been great. The calamari is always crispy just how we like it. The broccoli cheddar soup is to die for. I usually get the grilled chicken alfredo but this time I went for the BBQ pulled pork sandwich w bacon and avocado and I have to say it's delicious!

Today I went to lunch with a few of my coworkers and while the food was ok, the service did not meet expectations. We were seated fairly quickly, within 5 minutes and when the waitress came over to take our drink order, we were ready to place our actual food order. My one friend got her side salad within the next few minutes however it took an additional 20 minutes for us to get the rest of the entrees delivered. I ordered the Thai Mango Chicken Salad. The salad looked a little underdressed however there was a lime wedge on the plate so I used that. I ate roughly half of the salad before the waitress returned to see how we were / if we needed anything, etc. Upon her checking in, I asked for a side of dressing. Once I got the dressing, I realized that there was nothing previously on that plate which matched that color or flavor - my salad wasn't previously underdressed, there was no dressing at all. Now that I'm thinking of it, the salad didn't have chicken on it either. There was plenty of lettuce, mango strips and avocado but I was so distracted by the lack of flavor, I didn't realize that chicken, a key ingredient, was not present... During the course of the service, we were never offered any refills and it took us maybe another 15 minutes (post dressing issue) before we could flag our waitress back down and get the bill. The food did have flavor (when served as ordered) but post lunch rush, there's no reason for it to have taken 90 minutes to get one salad for myself, one baked potato / side salad for a co-worker and one burger / fries entree. I would not recommend if you are limited on time. There was no sense of urgency and there were plenty of empty tables, even directly in our section. The service left something to be desired.

I love the avocado eggrolls here. I think BJ' s Avo Eggrolls are much better than cheesecake factory. I also, think their bbq beef sandwich and sweet pig deep dish are yummy. They make a refreshing hef that is absolutely delicious with 3 lemon wedges squeezed in.

Came here for HH, BJs craft beers $4 on tap. Would recommend the hefeweizen (I usually order a pilsner). Got the strawberry mojito, ($5) and it was disappointing (but was it? How much can you expect from a BJs?) Had to muddle the few sliced of strawberries and ~4 whole mint leaves that came in it myself. It also left an artificially sweet aftertaste I was not a fan of.

This BJ's is in a great location, next to the Laguna Hills Mall. An old friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. It was already busy, but we were able to get a table within a few minutes from arriving. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, but it is a little loud. I ordered the Balsamic Glazed Chicken and it was delicious. It was served on top of spring green lettuce, and had a side of mashed potatoes with fried onion shoestrings and a balsamic drizzle all over. Every bite was so flavorful. They do not offer bread, so we ordered some on the side. The server provided us with two small slices of the garlic bread they typically serve with pasta. Looking at the bill, they waived the charge, which was nice. Our server was ok, not genuinely friendly. He was not too attentive and we had to flag him down when we needed something. I felt like he was not thrilled that my friend and I were spending a little extra time catching up. He was quick to set the bill down and walk away. Overall - great food and location. We spent a little over $40 for two meals and two glasses of wine. I think it was just a bad night for the server.

Like my original review, my food was not hot. No. Barely warm. Again, like it had been under a heat lamp for ages. I was going to send it back, but the gent who dropped it off wasn't our sever, and I didn't see the server again until about 20 minutes later. I should have asked if they were going to comp the iced tea, since we spent the entire meal thirsty. No refills, until it was time to ask for the cheque. What I don't understand here: they always make you wait (even a few minutes) event if the place isn't full. Maybe they are always short staffed? The one (and only?) promising thing about this location: the mozzarella sticks are always top notch, piping hot, and seem fresh (or as fresh as mozzarella sticks can be). Next time I am craving BJs--which isn't very often--I'll find another location to go to.

Went today for lunch, service was absolutely terrible we were even waiting by the front door to be seated with several staff standing around before even acknowledging us. Waiter took forever to come and take our order but took everyone's around us. We ordered the deep dish BJ's pizza it was okay but it was cold and took what seemed like a half an hour to get to us they didn't clear the plates from the salads so our already small table grew even smaller, and my wifes ice tea was never refilled and sat empty for the remainder of the meal. We later began having nuesea Needless to say my wife and I will not be coming back and hope others read this review and heed my warning to not eat at this establishment unless your wanting to be treated terribly and get sick from the food then by all means eat here.

Service was horrible at least eighty percent of my visits. Chiefly, the Yelp user and service staff employee (Ryan R.) who inspired my negative Yelp tip always seemed to find my table. This psycho created a Yelp account, per his 'compliment', solely for the purpose of sending me a childish insult in response to a tip I posted. Psycho LOSER stalker alert! If you want to increase your odds of avoiding a bad experience, you should sit at the bar in front of a bartender. I am amazed at how poorly this place is operated considering the owner(s)' substantial investment. How much can a manager cost? Doubt I will return due to sustained terrible service :( ...don't want another waitress stalker either...

Bad service. Came here for lunch and we were waiting to be seated, but the host ignored the party and continued to finish her conversation with a co-worker. Don't order the ribeye because it's more of a sirloin. Food did not have any taste and very bland. Definitely will not recommend or be back.

Awesome time last night at the BJ's/Rogue beer dinner! Tim the host and manager always is so welcoming and inviting. Definitely recommend everyone going to the next one! Make reservations, they fill up quick!

I love the BJ's favorite deep dish pizza. I get it every time. The small is perfect to split between 2 people (there are 6 slices total, so 3 each). FYI - They don't have a corkage fee! So if you bring a bottle of wine, they will give you glasses and pour the bottle for you for free. If you want to have a 2nd bottle of wine, it's only a $7 corkage fee. FYI - You can only get happy hour at the bar. We came here for happy hour beers/appetizers and waited for a table, then once we sat down our server told us that they only offer happy hour at the bar.

I would not recommend this place for lunch. Especially if you only have an hour break from work. We came here for lunch. The restaurant seemed quiet and most tables were empty. We were three and ordered from the lunch menu, which you'd think it would be ready in a timely manner since they are smaller portions. -- It took them 45 minutes to get our order out. This was after we asked them about it and they went to check. I couldn't tell you much about the food because we devoured everything in the last 5 minutes we had before we needed to get back to work. Not a really nice experience to be honest, and I wouldn't generally write a review here for a one-time incident like this but this has not been the first time that this has happened.

The WORST dining experience I've had in a very long time! Coffee mug had lipstick and pieces of food stuck to it and when thus was brought to the attention of our server, her response was, "Oh, ok." 45 minutes later, another server took away the mug and brought a fresh mug of coffee. We had to ask for replacement forks, as they were sticky with set food and fat. Now the REASON why this was the WORST DINING EXPERIENCE, a gluten free pizza (with no cheese) was brought out WITHOUT pizza sauce! All the toppings fell off the top of the pizza, which is how we realized that there was no sauce. When this was brought to the attention of the server, she told us that the gluten free pizza DOES NOT come with sauce. I can understand if the sauce had gluten in it, but normally that's not the case. When this was brought to the attention of the manager, a replacement SMALLER pizza was made quickly, but they STILL CHARGED us for the smaller replacement pizza and the coffee. Having worked in the food and hospitality industry for years, thus is an OUTRAGE! This is how you guarantee to LOSE customers. Will never patron a BJ's EVER AGAIN!

Came here recently for a birthday dinner. Party of 10 and we got seated right away so that was nice- and we didn't make a reservation. The service was OK- seems like every BJ's restaurant the service is about mediocre. Our waitor only checked on us to take our order, and to drop off the food- nothing about refilling drinks, extra napkins, or anything. Food was great as always and so was the ultimate amazing Pizookie! Overall good food- mediocre service.

I had never visited a BJ's Brewhouse before. I have seen these places all over and we were curious to see what it was all about. After eating here I have to tell you...I wish we had just gone elsewhere. The salad I ate sits in my stomach like a brick and I had to take a few Rolaids to aid the pain in my gut. If you were to judge this place on appearance alone I would give it 5 stars. However, we don't visit a restaurant for the appearance alone. I had the BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad. First of all the salad was mushy. Lettuce, tomatoes, Jicama, tortilla strips, black beans, corn blended together in a BBQ-Ranch dressing. It sounds like it should be great right? Far from it...Imagine all of these ingredients mixed together into a mushy, unappetizing mess in a salad bowl. It tasted OK overall but maybe just because I was hungry. Maybe if they mixed this all together with about 50% less dressing it would be better. Maybe if the lettuce were not limp and lifeless and almost "water logged". I can't put my finger on why this salad was so bad. All I know is that I sit here with my belly still aching from that mistake. It does not stop there. My son ordered a burger...a double deluxe burger. It comes with 2 patties, bacon, cheese, etc. He says the meat was crumbly, the bread was almost soggy and overall the burger was super greasy. He also is experiencing a sore belly on account of this meal. The place was packed so they must be doing something right. Maybe the beer is great and maybe the appetizer/bar food is good. However, I can tell you that we will not be returning to this restaurant for lunch or dinner anytime soon. There are so many places to eat out here there is no reason to.

The buffalo chicken pizza is DELICIOUS!! OMG. It's something about the crust that's so scrumptious! It's thick crust, but the bottom is buttery and flakey and the dough is always cooked amazingly. This pizza is a must try for sure. The happy hour is awesome too. Great selection of house beers. We sat in the bar and the service was blah, nothing special...that's why I only gave it 4 stars. Sometimes the servers here can be so overwhelmed (or seem like it) and they just stand around and talk to each other. So that means they don't really talk to you. Oh, and the fact their wedge salad is not that impressive. The blue cheese dressing was like, watered down or something. Yuck. I didn't appreciate that at all. But I'm telling you, most of the other stuff I've tried on their menu has been great and the pizzas are absolutely delicious!!

This BJs was a pleasant surprise. I had a great four course meal here yesterday. We started with cocktails. I had an excellent strawberry cocktail. It's featured about halfway done the cocktails page. We followed up with some wine. I had a glass of moscato and it was delicious! I recommend these drinks to all the girls drinkers out there. Next, we had an avocado wrap. I was surprised at how good this was! There was cheese with a little bit of kick in it. Well worth every bite. The entree was bad. We had the mahi mahi tacos and chicken tacos. The meat was a little dry. The spices weren't anything to write home about. Last up was the pazukis. These are the BJ specialties. If you're a first timer, I recommend getting the trio so you can try different kinds. We got the triple chocolate (my long standing favorite), the white chocolate with macadamia nut, and the lightly salted caramel. The first to lived up to my expectations, but the last wasn't worth it. I wish they would bring back the red velvet!

I went to this restaurant a few weeks back and was surprised and the lack of service my friends and I received. Our wait to be seated wasn't very long, but my friend was on crutches and they sat us at the very very back of the restaurant. The person who seated us said she didn't understand why the head hostess put us back there, but that should couldn't do much about it. Our waitress was rude when we told her we needed more time and when our food came it was lukewarm and my friends pasta had no sauce on it at all. The only reason this restaurant is getting 2 starts instead of one is because of the kind hostess who sat us and my Pazookie. My friends Pazookie was cold and extremely hard to get off the plate.

Good: 1. A handful of TVs are available by the booths, at the bar, and in the patio area. BJ's is a solid alternative to traditional sports bars for those who want to catch March Madness games without sacrificing on the food quality. I believe BJ's carries Direct TV network. 2. Plenty of seating, significantly more than the Tustin Marketplace location. The patio features open seating and can accommodate at least 10 large parties. 3. Lunch specials start from $5.95 (chicken quesadilla). A flatbread and salad is $6.95. Unlimited soup and salad is $7.50. A specialty lunch salad is $8.95. A variety of lunch size pastas is $1 off the regular menu price. You CAN get a lunch for under $10 here (under certain circumstances). 4. For health-conscious customers, I recommend the flatbread/salad lunch special (575 calories). The choices for flatbread included "black and bleu", "roasted vegetables and goat cheese", "california club, "fresh basil with italian sausage", and "margherita fresca". I ordered a half margherita fresca flatbread and half mixed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The meal felt very light. All ingredients used were fresh. Bad: 1. Flatbread was lukewarm. 2. Slow service. This is not an ideal restaurant to get in and out quickly for a quick lunch break. You need at least an hour for the entire experience. If you have less time, get take-out or look elsewhere. 3. Soft drinks were $2.95. This makes spending under $10 for lunch a fantasy if you cannot restrain yourself from ordering a beverage.

I went there for my birthday and although I had my id with me, they wouldn't serve me beer. So ridiculous

This BJ's location used to be one of our favorite restaurants but last night will be our last visit. The beer was good but that was about it. Terrible service - three appetizers were delivered quickly, but at the exact same time as the entrees! They did offer us free dessert for the mistake but the food was so bad that we declined. The steak was tough and tasteless, the fish tacos were very low on fish and the pasta was not good. We just wanted to get out and not come back. Time to find a new family restaurant.

Usually get deep dish pizzas here because they are some of the best and usually consistent. Last night though I decided to mix it up and try their Chicken Alfredo, which I do not recommend in the least bit. Flat taste and chicken is grilled and just thrown in with the boring Alfredo sauce and pasta. Chicken really needs to soak up flavors of the sauce and not be so dry. Sauce was the main problem, Alfredo when done right and from scratch is mind blowing but I'm thinking they went cheap on this and wondering if this was this some sort of frozen deal? We had a new menu appetizer, some sort of Mexican French fry deep dish concoction, that too I would not recommend. Wife got usual chicken salad which in my mind doesn't look appetizing. Service was really poor last night. Server never came by for drink refills so we only had our original empty drink on the table the whole time. He also took way to long for check. Nice guy, but really stressed out because he had too many tables while so many other employees were just standing around in bar area. Hard to justify a return trip.

Great food, and the servers were nice. However, the hosts/hostesses at the entrance need a better way to keep track of the parties who are waiting. There were multiple parties under the same name and party size, and they had no way of knowing who was first.

I've been here a lot. I live close by and it's convenient. I like BJs menu and the diversity that can be found on it. That being said, this particular BJs does not hit the mark. I've had quite a few meals either be wrong, undercooked, or overcooked. The service is not on point. I've been here when it's been busy and when it's been slow and regardless the service is just not there. Multiple times I've had to track down a waiter or waitress and many times drinks have never been refilled, plates haven't been cleared, etc. I'm not saying the service is /always/ bad, because it isn't. Sometimes it's great. But I'm giving three stars because the good days are few and far between.

Its been an hour since we ordered and sat and no food has come out. Wish the server would have updated us or offered some compensation.

My friend and I visited later in the evening, and I found both the staff and hostess very welcoming and helpful. I am happy to know BJ's is open till midnight. I don't know if this dessert combination is seasonal but their peppermint chocolate pizookie in the smaller size is delicious but the peppermint ice cream could be richer! i found it odd that all the peppermint candy bits were at the bottom of the peppermint ice cream scoop sitting on top of the cookie. I ordered the Black and bleu flatbread pizza and found it to be utterly delicious! perfect size if you're going to eat it by yourself!

Food is always good, but service is just bad at this restaurant. My mother in law just moved into a retirement home down the street and we have been to this restaurant twice. The first time our server was so quiet u couldn't understand him and he was so slow I had to get a different server to help us half the time. One experience I get it maybe he was new. Today we got a different server, she got my order and my nieces order wrong. I'm pregnant and had to wait 20 minutes for a new deep dish to be made...not cool. No meal comp no apology from management, the cook brought it out and gave me a look without saying a word. This server bleached blonde pony tail was also slow and could not be found all our drinks were empty and we still could not get water from her. Again, love the food but will not be visiting this particular BJs again two disappointing trips is enough. Management needs to work on sense of urgency and customer service with their team.

  • Kevin M.

Gotta say, I have never been disappointed till the last time I went and got curbside service. They forgot part of our order and I spent 20$ on their one appetizer dish. However, the manager went above and beyond to help us out again. With excellent service from all waiters and waitresses the only suggestion is to smile a little more! :) Fantadtic food as always ad great lunch specials!

So, the food is great but the service sucks! I was told I would wait 20 minutes and ended up waiting 50 minutes tonight. To top it off it took another 25 minutes to get my food after ordering. Love bjs but the service was not good at all.

  • Jesus S.

Worst dining experience of my life. The service was atrocious. I've given this place 3 opportunities and all 3 times they have failed miserably. The servers were inattentive and rude. While the food was good, trust me, it is not good enough to make up for this type of service. All 3 times I've waited over 45 minutes for my pasta, and that's not counting the 15 minutes it took the server to greet us, on top of the 10 minutes of waiting for my drinks. I can safely say I am never setting foot at this location ever again. If you are considering this place. Avoid at all cost.

Just like any other Bj's good food, good beer, decent prices, decent service, shareable portions. Favorites include: Calamari, BBQ chicken pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, pretty much all of their small bites, and who can forget their famous pizookie. They added mocktails on their menu too, the raspberry one is delicious!

Made a reservation here recently for a large party for a Saturday evening birthday dinner. When we arrived, we were told that there was no record of our reservation and that the wait would be about an hour for a table. This is not the first time our reservations have been lost at this location. After speaking to a manager, we were given a table within 10 minutes. Food was good and service was attentive once we were seated. If you're looking for something on the lighter side, the Hawaiian Mahi is amazing!

  • David E.

This is a 3.0 or 3.5 chain eatery depending on what you order. I would never sniff a pizza here but for sandies and salads I wouldn't turn up my nose. I haven't tried the beer in ages but likely will since I'm trying every porter or stout (other than bitter Imperial ones) I can get my hands on. I had a BBQ CHICKEN SALAD and it was pretty good. You won't compare it to Tender Greens but for variety and proximity it is just fine. The service was good and the look and feel here is a little nicer than the one I recall from my old hood. Unfortunately we have so many dining options in the OC this is the first time I've made it here in the 7 + years I've lived here. We'll see if I can get back here in less than another 7 + years. :)

I have been to this particular restaurant in the past and the food was somewhat good. Today I ordered the Mahi tacos and the shrimp scampi and both of these meals were less than enjoyable. The Mahi tacos tasted like fish sticks that suffered freezer burn and overcooking. The scampi had way to much garlic and didn't taste fresh. In a positive note, the avocado rolls were delicious and I would def recommend.

The food was great, our server was very nice but it took too long to make the food. They said there was only one person making the burgers and he was backed up. But all together good experience.

Simply amazed that I continue to have AWESOME service @ this BJ's locations. I can't believe it's been only 9 days since I signed up for the rewards program and now I'm back tonight to redeem MORE points!!! :) A disappointment that turned into a FREE appetizer! The Avocado Egg Rolls were seriously undercooked. When we bit into it, a chunk of white flour was all stuck around the edges as if the oil didn't even touch it when they fried them. There was seriously an inch of flour all crusted around the edges of the egg rolls. So we called the waiter who took the plate back... The Manager came and apologized. They made a FRESH NEW batch of the appetizer!!! This time it really was THE BEST BATCH of Avocado Egg Rolls ever!!! It was warm, crispy, chewy and packed w/avocado goodness!!!! No sight of white flour :) I ordered the EnLIGHTened Thai Chicken Mango Salad. But I shared my concern w/the waiter because the first time I ordered this dish, I explained that the chicken was bland/rubbery/not tasty at all!! Kind of tasted like weird fake chicken or something.... So my waiter suggested that I substitute "BLACKENED CHICKEN" instead of "Grilled" chicken. This time the chicken had a better flavor and did taste like chicken!! Yay!! I was happy :) Now onto our Mediterranean Pizza. It's a DEEP dish pizza or choose gluten-free. For some reason I didn't know that BJ's doesn't have thin crust!?!?!!? The crust was a little too thick for us as it was almost like eating bread. For 4 role the medium was more than enough to share... The Mediterranean is interesting with sun-dried tomatoes, olives, peppercini, chicken, pesto sauce and cheese. it's really good but you can never go wrong with BJ's pizza! Overall a pleasant evening, great food, and I'm 10 points away from redeeming a FREE PIZOOKIE!!!!!

I have been coming to this location for years, and am a big fan. They get very crowded, but the wait usually isn't too bad. The servers are extremely nice and helpful. On my most recent visit I came with my family on Saturday night. Three of us eat gluten free (two of us have an allergy) and the fourth does not eat gluten free. I made it very clear that I have an allergy to gluten and cannot eat it, so I ordered a burger wrapped in lettuce. Their fries share a fryer with breaded items, so they are not gluten free (luckily the server knew this), so I got a side salad. The server was also educated about what salad dressings contain gluten. There was some sort of mix up in the kitchen though because my burger came out with bun, but we pointed out the mistake and they quickly fixed it. The waitress came over and apologized then the manager came over and apologized as well. They don't have the most gluten free options, but they do have pretty solid selections (including GF pizzas and pizookies - both delicious)! The wait staff is very aware of gluten and how to handle gluten allergies, maybe the kitchen staff just needs a little more training. Overall, I love BJ's and it remains one of my regular spots!

Pizza was amazing as always, no matter how many toppings you get in every bite the crust is always fluffy dankness. The beer is super cold and delicious. The service here is always hit and miss, usually it's okay but nothing out standing or worthy of an amazing tip. Seems as if they don't care or are to busy to. Apparently they were out of the mini size of pizza today, not sure how that even happens but it did tonight.

I went to this location on Sunday for lunch and had Ryan as my server. He suggested the deep dish lasagna and it was a great choice! He was very attentive and we didn't have to wait too long for anything. Amazing food and great service!

We were at dinner last night and there was a small issue with service and our order. Our waiter it seemed wasn't to interested in our table. Well that is when another server (I believe her name was Selena ) stepped up with no incentive as we were not her table and took care of us. We spoke to management and peter (one of the managers) was very helpful (I see why he is a manager). Thank to Selena and Peter they turned a poor date night into a great date night. Thanks bjs as we come here often to enjoy the food and sports. USC lost :(

After driving from Northern California for a good 6 hours, my boyfriend and I were starving and came to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse to satisfy our hungry stomachs. The interior of the restaurant looks a lot better here than it does back at home in terms of elegance, at least with that huge, pretty lamp that you see hanging from the ceiling when you first enter the restaurant. One sad part was before my sister cancelled on us that she could not make lunch with us, she still reserved us a table and the staff STILL made us wait 10 minutes until we could be seated. Um, isn't the point of a reservation so you don't have to wait at all? I was pretty upset with that, especially when we were coming all the way down from a tiring roadtrip. When we got to our table, I noticed that the utensils were not even on the table and I had to request them when we got our meal. No biggie, but just something to point out for others. Also, I just got the vibe that the workers seemed very disorganized or not confident in their work, as they seemed to forget things a lot. In other words, we'd be kept waiting for a while until we could actually take our order, receive our order, etc. I thought this was a little bit unnecessary, especially when I felt that it wasn't even that packed when we got there. The food though was good, like always whenever I dine at BJ's. I got my famous Avocado Eggrolls, which tasted amazing. We also ordered a California Pizza Flatbread (my boyfriend loved it), chicken quesadilla (which tasted bomb), and a Chocolate Chunk Pizookie (tasted like perfection). Overall, I feel that the food far surpasses the service, and I was more upset with how we weren't seated on time. Probably will never go here again in SoCal, but in NorCal, yes.

The food is good, atmosphere is good. Unfortunately, service is terrible. They always seem to be understaffed or not well-managed. We used to go to the Huntington Beach location all the time until we moved closer to this location and were sorely disappointed with the service at this place. We kept trying this place once every few months hoping they would have a new manager so the service could get better, but no such luck. So 4 stars for the food, drink, atmosphere, -2 for the service; therefore, the generous 2 star rating.

Never go again. Went with a party of 11 and three were young. We asked that the kids be giving food first as it was getting late. The kids were the last to get the food. My food did not show up and when it did you can tell it was sitting under lights as it was now over cooked. They did not charge us for my meal however the gave me one to take with us. When I got home I found it was raw so in the trash that went. My suggestion go somewhere else to eat

This has been my go to for great pizza for years now. Friendly service and quick to get me through line and on my way. I love the variety of ingredients and types of pizzas that satisfy the most picky of eaters. Until recently they made a mistake to my order. Tim Miller- helped me satisfy the mistake quickly and trouble free. This made me very happy to know they stand behind their service and quality of food.

Service here is typically slow, but the pazookies and large beer list make up for it! They have everything you can imagine, a little bit for everyone on the menu. Great deep dish pizzas and some tasty appetizers to share. The restaurant seems so large and so understaffed constantly!!!

Both service and food are inconsistent...sometimes my husband and I have a spectacular dining experience and other times, not so much. I'm giving this establishment 4 stars rather than 3 because despite a couple of bad visits, we've had a good number of enjoyable visits. The last time we encountered an issue, Jennifer, the manager, was very courteous and prompt in rectifying the situation which we really appreciated. The food and atmosphere are good so we'll be back...we just won't know what kind of service to expect!

This review is for a server named Daniel. This guy knows the true meaning of ownership!! If there's a problem he owns it and takes care of it. He turned what could've been our first bad experience here into one worth a 5-star review! We always come here usually after 10pm for their awesome happy hour. We always get good service, but this time it was a little different. The upstairs area by the bar was almost full and me and my son had no clean booth to sit on. There were about 4 empty ones but dirty which is understandable after a rush so we sat down and waited to see if somebody would go clean one.. I asked a couple servers/busboys and no one had a clue of what to do with us lol so I kept waiting.. And waiting.. And waiting.. and finally Daniel came by to explain what was going on he said he would grab our server and when he came back he said "I'm very sorry for the wait, I'm just gonna take care of you" and he did a grrrreat job at it! He brought our drinks quickly and placed our order right away.. We had their delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with vanilla ice cream "pizookie" which was the bomb! As always! Thank you Daniel and thank you BJ's for such delicious food. Will keep coming back as usual!

Sat in the bar area for football on Sunday with my husband. We were there for quite some time.... And at first, the service was quick and efficient. But, after we had finished our lunch (we planned to stay longer) our waiter didn't even come to the table to check on us. The bar was NOT busy, therefore I was not able to find a reason for the service diminishing after our lunch. We will return again, in hopes of having great service throughout our entire visit.

  • Christine K.

My mother in law had the chicken salad and she kept saying that it was the best she's ever had! Frankly, I thought that's because she doesn't get out much. As for the rest of our meal, Mahi salad, burger, fish & chip...were good. No complain there, however it didn't stand out, not memorable like the chicken salad. Good service. Not my frequent hang out, maybe once or twice a year.

  • Florence H.

Worst BJ's I've ever been to. They served me wine in a cracked carafe, the waiter apologized and said the next two would be on him. When he brought the check he only credited me for one. The service was sloooow!! We were sitting on the outside patio during happy hour, however they don't honor happy hour prices unless you're sitting in the bar. My boyfriend and I were seated at a table with my sister and her husband. When ordering dessert, they got theirs but we didn't get ours. I LIVE for dessert so I was extremely disappointed that the waiter never put in the order. Our relatives on the table next to us had Chardonnay added on their bill even though no one ordered it. *** DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TAB!! *** I handed my Premier Rewards card along with my credit card when paying the check. The waiter didn't add in my reward points, so I had to go online to enter it myself. I don't know if he was just lazy, didn't care, or was new. In any case, he got a 10% tip from us for the crappy service, and he's lucky he got that much from us since our bill was nearly $100. The only reason this location is getting a star at all is because the food here is good, especially the pizza and the avocado rolls. So go for the food, but don't expect stellar service from the help.

  • Kas C.

Their food tastes average (think something like TGI Friday's or Cheesecake Factory), but I do like the drinks BJ serves, especially their hand-crafted root beer is the best! But this review is about my last experience there. I ordered their root beer like I always do, along with a couple appetizers and a pizza. Well, at the end of my meal, the bottom of the root beer glass broke off and root beer spilled ALL OVER my lap. The manager came over and explained to me that every now and then the glasses crack when somebody puts a warm glass inside the fridge. Uhh okay, so why do your employees keep putting warm glasses in the refrigerator if this is a common occurrence? I am giving 2 stars because she deducted the pizza from our check, however she did not apologize for the situation, only deducted the pizza and nothing else from our check (not even the root beer!). The only reason I am unsatisfied with that, is because I went to Ritz Carlton one time, and the server accidentally spilled wine in my lap. The manager came over, apologized profusely, and deducted our ENTIRE $300 check. At BJ's, you only get a $20 pizza deducted from your bill, and not even the root beer that the caused the whole fiasco in the first place. And don't give me that crap about Ritz Carlton being a more expensive and upscale restaurant. BJ's is PACKED every time I enter this restaurant, so I KNOW they MUST be making more money than Ritz Carlton at times. So, only 2 stars from me.

Ordered the BJ Cobb salad. Asked for the dressing on the side. They served it on the side AND on the salad too. This defeats the purpose of asking for it on the side. The result was a soggy salad. This place is very busy which is probably why there is no attention to detail. The Cobb salad is better at Denny's and Carrolls and even Coco's due to this.

I totally love this place, great staff, super service. The pizzas, burgers and ribs are all good. The home-made Root Beer, Cream Soda, Black Cherry and Orange is awesome and all-you-can-drink with free refills! They also make about 12 beers there and they are fantastic too! The Pizookie is a giant cookie dessert topped with Ice Cream! It was delicious!! I am going back to Minnesota tomorrow but I would definitely come back here again and again. If I lived here, I would always be here. I would just have my mail sent there. LOL

Beer = A- Avocado egg rolls = A Deep dish pizza = D- Pizookie = A So can you tell me why this place is famous for its cheese less, sauce less, pile of goopy dough as a deep dish pizza even considers it in their name? Service was ok. Not horrible, not great. I keep getting reminded on the once a year I get invited here, why I avoid this place. Way better Chicago style pizzerias close by for much less, better quality, and service that you feel appreciated. BJS, you sold out to corporate America.

So before I was really into the beer scene I would come to BJs and order cocktails. Now that I see the error of my ways (who goes to a brewery to order wine or a cocktail?) I've come to realize why I never ordered beer here. Now, I love that BJs has guest beers but I feel like if I'm at a brewery it's only right to drink the house beer. I tried the Jeremiah Red and it was decent. My bf ordered the IPA and it was not. I know their beers have won tons of awards and the beer market is saturated but there was nothing that made that beer outstanding to me. Everything else is predictable at BJs. I think the only reason we went here was because my sister lives in BFE in NY and they don't have BJs. So, she and my infant niece (who loves pizza) wanted to come here. Don't ask me how a 9 month old told me she wanted pizza. She did and auntie buckled and took her. That kid owes me one.

The server Isaac was very unprofessional. He took forever to get us our appetizers and checks. Seems he had an attitude from the start. Management, please look into this. I've always liked this particular Bj's. I'd like this looked into.

The food is usually pretty good here, have tried a few different things on the menu. The price is good and the rootbeer they make here is very good only real issue is how long you usually have to wait for your server to come with your drinks and get your order and so on. It doesnt matter if your the first person in there or if it is a packed house your always playing the waiting game here. That and the noise level is really loud in that place for some reason. Haven't tried there pizza here yet but most of there burgers are good and there beef french dip is nice and filling.

Sometimes it's really really hard to find a decent server in the bar section of a restaurant, it's busy and loud and crowded. Not the case at this BJs, the food is always good and comes out timely, and the service is phenomenal. Michael is a great server, I ore ordered a drink for when mine ran out and he was PERFECT on his timing. I was finishing my last gulp and started looking for him and there he was with a new drink already. This is my go to BJs in the area, I recommend to everyone!!!

This is one of the largest BJ I've ever seen. I love coming here for their dessert, but I honestly think their food can be better. This is the first time I saw avocado roll on their menu so I decided to order it. I'm very familiar with this item as its always one of my go to items when I eat at cheesecake factory. And.... It sucked! For whatever reason, the wrap they use to fry their avocado in is extremely hard, doughy and dry. Also, the sauce they use to go with their roll does not complement each other at all. I also ordered chicken wings, and I would have to tell you to go to buffalo wild wings if you want some good wings. I think it's good, but not as good as buffalo. The BEST PART of the meal is always the dessert, and this is the only place you can find pizzokie!!!! I got the trios, which is a great way to try different type of flavors. I got the red velvet, macadamia nuts and white chocolate, and Oreo and cookies. OMG! It was to die for!!!! I love it! Bottom lines, this is a great place to come for some beer and dessert. But as for their usually dinner meal.... Not my kinda food.

Food was pretty good but service was pretty bad. The waitress was not happy with our 10% tip (because the initial service was mediocre) and pretty much threw a doggie bag at us when we asked to take home the leftovers. Me and friends were appalled at her behavior. We would never visit this place again.

I ordered mahi mahi from the carry-out menu. I asked if they could substitute extra vegetables for the fried rice. No problem, they said. I also asked them to leave off the ginger-soy sauce on the veggies. When my order arrived, the first thing I noticed upon removing the lid from the entree was that the serving size was ridiculously small - it covered less than half the plate. Points deducted for presentation. Also, their idea of 'extra veggies' definitely wasn't the same as mine. I'd hate to see what the regular amount looked like. As a bonus, they hadn't omitted either the rice or the sauce, as I had requested and as was plainly printed on the attached copy of my order. So I sent it back. No problem, said the friendly cashier. But the second time around was little better than the first. Still no extra veggies, still sauce on the veggies. By this time I had no time left to send it back again, since I was on a strict travel schedule. To be fair, the food was of decent quality, but hey - you get the order wrong twice, you get one star.

I love BJs but it seems every time I go there we run into some issue, whether it is horrible service from our waiter or our food being cold. The food is always good and they are always quick to solve the problem and are very lenient at discounting when they mess up but it is just a bummer to have something go wrong every time.

Food is still good, but the staff are letting the place go. Were taken to a dirty booth and asked to have it cleaned off. The host brushed off the food that was within arm's reach and left the rest. Crumbs still on the table, crumbs in the booth, actual chunks of food on the corner caps of the booth. Pretty sorry.

We ordered the new flat bread pizza- all there was was bread we complained. Waiter did not care but offered us something else . We got a deep dish pizza- again just dough apparently BJ's cannot afford toppings for their pizzas! More profit for the company sucks

good beer horrible food. I had the Southern Fried Chicken that was awful. the chicken was fried in oil that had the burnt taste of rancid oil. Waitress delivered wrong food twice to my wife. they have a long way to go before I return for anything but a drink. what a waste of money

  • T C.

Service is severely lacking at this location. Waitress was not attentive at all. Our orders were not delivered correctly, food was cold, and getting it resolved took a long time. Most of our party was done eating by the time the incorrectly delivered orders were replaced. The kitchen staff brought out our meals while our waitress was no where to be found. Not sure where the ball was dropped but either our waitress didn't write down the orders correctly or they were not prepared as ordered. Forget even trying to get our drinks refilled. Better management and maybe some staffing changes are in order.

If I could give a rating for the food only it would definitely be 5 stars. But since this is about the restaurant as a whole I give it 3 stars. I probably come here at least once every couple weeks. I kid you not every time I come they forget about me while I'm waiting. One time I was waiting for 45 min and then I couldn't take it anymore and finally asked what the heck was taking so long and they were just like uhhhhh??? They totally forgot about me and seated me right away after I said something. ANNOYING. Maybe it's just me. Who knows. But whatever you do don't get a server named Jorge! Probably the worst server I have ever had in my life. He probably checked on us once if that and took forever to do anything. THANK GOD THE FOOD IS AMAZING OTHERWISE THIS PLACE PISSES ME OFF!!!!

They open until late at night while everything else closed already, so that made it very easy for us . The calamary was good and I really liked the salads. The service was great.

So, I have been going to BJ's for years for happy hour, dinner, lunch and even their breakfast is quite good. I think with the expanded menu (even the waiter said "novel"), they might have lost their way. We started with the buffalo wings (boned, not boneless) and they were good, 8 pieces, crispy with buffalo and ranch dipping sauce. We shared the BBQ chicken chopped salad and kept wondering what was wrong with it, their seemed to be bbq sauce, but no ranch or was it Italian - couldn't place it ? I have had good BBQ chopped salads and honestly it was just tasteless, just bland. I couldn't tell what was missing because everything seemed to be there but just bad and a rip off for 14 bucks. I asked the waiter if they changed their menu and he just said, "no". !? The BJs favorite pizza (a staple) was sub par with very few toppings, very dry and kind of doughly. I am used to it being fluffy and bready(light, all be it), but to was just average. With these 3 items plus lemonade and a tip 50 bucks out the door was just not a good deal - this was lunch. The service was good but everything else..well to be desired.

Seated in 5 minutes but we waited 15 for a server to actually make eye contact and take a drink order. Management here is incredibly poor.

We love BJ'S except this one in Laguna Woods, California. My Cajon pasta was dry and my wife had broccoli soap in a sour Doug bread bowl. The soup was nasty. We been to several BJ'S and never had a bad meal until this visit.

I like this location. The food selection is great and is able to cater to young and old. Beer selection is very good, craft beer too. Service is very friendly and prompt unlike some other locations of this restaurant. Only one large screen tv, in the bar area. And the bar area is first come first served. So if you are headed there to watch a game, plan on being there well in advance.

Can't really find too many places to get deep dish style pizza, so I guess for a chain, BJ's does an okay job of that. This particular location does get pretty busy for dinner. Expect a wait on Fridays and weekends. I love the calorie counts next to every item on the menu, the number of items in the quadruple digits makes the dinner feel super guilty!

Service was absolutely terrible! I swear we had three different waiters throughout our dinner. The first one was so slow in getting our drink and food order. Took 15 minutes to bring back some water! One person had to ask three different time for her drink and it finally arrived after our boss went to the bar and ordered it. No idea where our first waiter went, just disappeared! Different waiter took our food order finally, and it took 45 min to come out. My food was ok, but it was undercooked and at this point I was too hungry to care. One guy in our party didn't even get his food and had to flag down a passing waiter to find out where it was. We finally got a good waiter towards the end of our meal and the poor guy had to go around and rewrite everything we ordered to make our tickets. Apparently large parties (we had 10) confuse the staff.

Is it just me or has this location under gone a change for the worst. For years i have been coming to this location and always had great service and great food but in the last 6 months something has changed. Tonight was the kicker... was not greated when i walked in, ok so it was busy and that can slide. The hostess took our name and told us 15 minutes. When they called out name another hostess took us to our table but aeemed she was bothered by her job and no personality. Usually we are walked back by a tall alim gentleman that asks us how our day is and has a great smile... makes you feel invited and warm. The server was the next person of interaction. .. no people skills, brings drinks with mo straws ( ok no big deal) but then puts our straws on the table. Since they are not in paper i am not puttinf them in my drink. Food had great flavor like always but was warm at best. Im not one to return food as i hate pissing off the wait staff. Next a female manager (that looks like she got dressed in the dark) picks up our plates and asks if we need anything. I requested a box. After 20 minutes i decide im not getting one and the server offers to bring one. Over all it was not the BJ's experience im used to and it is the 3rd time in a row. I will not go back for at least a few months. Maybe by then it will be back to normal.

Today's visit was a bit disappointing: We were seated at a small booth right away. + The menus were sticky. - Greeted by server...10 minutes later. - Ordered our drinks, appetizer, and entrées; server went out of his way to check on a certain dish (unfortunately it's no longer available even though we used to order it and it wasn't on the menu then either). + Salad came to the table quickly but not our drinks; had to ask the person who delivered the food to check on our drinks. - The avocado egg rolls were tasty but the presentation could use improvement. Six rolls vastly separated around the sauce bowl. (Tip to BJ's: use a smaller plate or put another 2 egg rolls to the plate.) + The server came by our table to inform us they were out of baked potato. (Tip to BJ's: please communicate with staff. The customers need to know before/when ordering a meal if their side or main dish is not available.) - Main courses were great: Steaks with horseradish mashed potatoes. The sprinkling of the parsley around the plate is unnecessary; if you've ever watched 'Kitchen Nightmares with Chef Gordon Ramsey,' you'd be scared of plates with parsley scattered all over the plate. No need to decorate/garnish the plate with all the wasted parsley because the food should be the art. + The main reason for heading to BJ's was for dessert: bring on the pizookie!!! We asked to see the menu so we could see the choices and the server just stood there. He said there was no need for it and recited the options from memory; impressive but come on, you really aren't going to give us a menu and a minute to decide? Talk about pressure. - He asked us if we needed a to-go box and said he'll be right back. But about 10 minutes later our dessert arrived and the guy asked if we wanted a box. I told him that our server was getting one but never came back. The guy was really kind and brought back a box and also cleared our stacked up dishes. + I like how the rest of the servers try to pick up the slack of your main server. My generous tip was for everyone combined. However, if I had to give a single tip to our main server, I would have given the minimum. This location has slowly gone downhill. Kind of reminds me of the gradual decline of Black Angus. At least this time, we weren't seated by a hostess with incredibly horrible foot odor.

If you are between the ages of 18 to 25 then yes this place is for you. No offense intended at all. If you are looking for good food and a dining experience then this is NOT the place for you. Average service. A bit too slow for me. Sticky table tops which equals germs. Noise level higher than most places. Food is average to below average.

I used to like this place way back when. The only reason for the two is they really need to clean this place better..dirty place... Carpet with ground in food...servers are really slow....

So when I first walked in, I was greeted by all the workers. They took my name down then immediately sat me down in a nice big comfy booth. My server came by and introduced himself (Felipe) and took our drink order. Usually places take a while to bring us out drinks but it came out within that minute. Since we ordered the 2 for 20 special he took our appetizer order so I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and my guest had ordered the salad. The food runner brought me my soup and brought her the salad. Right on track, my server came to check on us. Everything was tasting great . Then he came back took our empty plates out of our way and took our pizza order. He was very helpful on making our pizza the way we both like it and made it half and half. Shortly after that it arrived, looking just as it tasted: amazing. He gave us our plates and put a slice on both our plates so we didn't burn our hands (which was a first at all BJ'a for me!!). Also without me even having to ask he brought us both refills! After we were done with the pizza he handed us a box an since we both wanted different pazooke's he brought us 2 mini ones. I never even knew they could do that! He was so helpful an then he brought us that soon after. What a nice touch on the meal! Super filling! Then he thanked us and handed us our check. All in all, I had a great meal ( shout out to the cooks!! Meal was amazing!!). And the service was outstanding, I don't think I've had better service. Great job BJ's on your employees. You really do a great job, and a big thank you to my server who provided excellent service and actually looked like he loved his job and cares about his customers! You don't get that now a days. Thank you again, Jackie.

William was our server tonight. He was great!!! So attentive and came and checked on us multiple times. It's rare to see such great customer service these days. I wish all the servers I've interacted with at this location were as great as him. Great experience. I'll be back.

The Cobb salad was listed on the menu with apple-smoked bacon but we had to ask for it. We sat on the patio and the couch/benches were filthy. The Double Deluxe turkey was delicious. We were seated right away but the service was slow. We asked for a refill on water but it never came. They also advertised a brand new green tea, ice tea but when we ordered it they were out. All in all it was not worth the money we spent.

Waited for someone to take my food order for 15 minutes during the dinner time. After no acknowledgment I left and went to another restaurant near by. They were busy, however this does not excuse total neglect of a customer. Be aware of this problem if you planning a dinner engagement at this location.

Rude service. Came here on a Sunday evening didn't have to wait to be seated. Ordered clam chowder to start off, it was so salty it tasted bitter. 45 minutes and still waiting for the rest of our food. I usually don't write reviews but I'm so annoyed at the service that it's a must. Do not come to this location. I finished writing my review and our food is still not here. It's been an hour since the server took our order.

This place......such a shame how it sucks in service. I'm never happy when I pay for my meal At bj's. No matter which restaurant I go to they all suck. I've had me pasta served Undercooked, stiff and Un eatable 2x and they take it back and expect my wife just to wait until I get my meal back. Terrible! Last time they comped or meal cause of this. It was amazing I got my pasta 2x in that same visit with the same consistency, I won't be going back here.

This was the wrong dining experience I have had in forever. It all started two hours ago when we got our wedge salad that we specifically ordered with no bacon and came with bacon on it. Then the food came out and we really enjoyed our crispy dry chicken wings so we ordered another round. The next round came out 45 minutes later and were completely different. They were soaked in sauce, soggy and cold! We asked for the manager and she came and apologized and offered to make us another round on the fly. On the flu was about another 25 minutes later so we just took them to go. Terrible service, I normally love BJs but their quality at this location was the worst! Never coming back.

I love this place! I go quite often and the food is always extremely great ! I enjoy the California chicken sand which and the pizzas are all delicious!! I love this place no RSVP needed so that's pretty cool! Our servers are all really cool We enjoy going to the bar as we'll just sometimes that does take a little long to recieve service. Thanks you !

The manager won't EVER apologize for bad food!!!! We brought to her attention how much the portions have been getting smaller and smaller in the sour dough bowls. When you can't fit the of soup in the bread bowl corprite need to be informed. I wasent looking for a $4 discount on my $114 check I was expecting an IM sorry and I'll fix that right away. On previous attempts to eat this location Iv found dirty silverware, hair in my food and bad service. I always give chain restrants more then a few chances. I'm telling EVERYONE I know to spread the word to not to give this location any business.

I love BJ's. Got late night snack food here after watching Skyfall (which was good) and I had forgotten how good food was at BJ's! We ordered a medium regular hand-tossed Great White pizza and it filled three people up. I had my doubts, but I had to force myself to finish the last half slice. Place is also known for their famous pizookies, but we were too full from pizza to eat one!

This location is pretty decent. The food and service are always great. The best is really there happy hour, the tiny bites section and pizzokie. 1/2 off of the price for the mini and $2 off the drinks. I believe it is $2 off appetizers are good. One of the good appetizers are the chicken or the tiger shrimp lettuce wraps. That is a must try! Pizzokie is always a craving. cookie and ice cream= yum

Just seems like every time I decide to give BJ's another try, I am again disappointed. Service and food took forever, then when we finally received it looked as if it was sitting in the pass window too long, cold and old! Looks as if they are cutting back on portions as well... Not worth the price, experience not up to par! Boo... Won't be back, too many other places to go with better food and service.

After a long 6 hour drive from Cupertino to Laguna Hills, I was thoroughly looking forward to eating lunch at BJ's and needless to say, I enjoyed my meal. What's different about this BJ's? Nothing. But what really matters is that the restaurant is consistent. The food here tastes exactly the same as the food back home and that, in my opinion, seals the deal. Having a reliable restaurant that can always satisfy your expectations is quite heart-warming. Today, my girlfriend and I ordered the avocado egg rolls, chicken quesadilla, california club flat bread, and a pazookie. All three dishes were cooked perfectly and the pazookie never fails to disappoint. I would recommend these dishes if you're having trouble deciding in the moment. What's stopping me from giving the last star? The service was not as great as I had expected. Given that the restaurant is significantly larger than the BJ's I've been to elsewhere and the large number of staff working, we had to wait quite a bit to order and the check took a long time to come. The food, however, came out at the right time. If you want a reliable restaurant that doesn't disappoint, go to this BJ's, or any BJ's for that matter!

Somebody... tell Erin, our server this Sunday when we sat in the booth in the bar section..... that I'm giving her location 4 stars. And that's not because BJ's "the cumulative experience" was truly 4-star, but because Erin was actually interesting, genuine, and attentive without being a bother. We only ordered a Frisco Burger, the common name for a burger on sour dough with cheese. It was OK, and satisfied. My wife had a chicken and rice entree, which I didn't care for. But she doesn't eat red meat, so if she likes "any dish" at a restaurant, we're in good shape. My 4 star review for Laguna Hills is actually a "3.5 plus 0.5" The PLUS 0.5 goes to Laguna Hills....... FOR NOT BEING ANYTHING LIKE THE RANCHO STA. MARGARITA disaster. As Stevenen has said...... "...if you're hungry, you'll leave filled." (paraphrasing). Mary R. said, "....... she can stop drinking any time she wants....", and if her group is going to satisfy their thirst after work, she'll go along to "watch out for others, and maybe be a designated driver." (OK, so, is it still paraphrasing if you don't exactly relate what one has said..... or even get close??!) We've eaten here since we got to So.OC, and have never had a bad meal. I just pray that whatever "condition" the RSM store has, LH has been immunized, and won't be getting that way........ EVER!

There's nothing really wrong with BJ's, yet nothing really exciting or great about them either. It's fine and exactly what you'd expect. Being such a huge chain and such a huge restaurant that serves hundreds (thousands?) of customers a day, I usually feel like customer #5141241 each visit. I arrive, do the buzzer system, obligatory X seconds of small talk to the table, receive no special acknowledgement, sat, served, billed, and out the door without leaving the faintest impression of even existing to any of the staff. One time they messed up our order exceptionally bad, and suddenly had to pay attention to who we were. And ironically, that was our best experience here in the machine that is BJ's.

Hands down worst BJ's! Bad service, inconsistent food! I love BJ's, but this one has been this way since day one! The staff will readily agree with you if you complain about the service.

I have been to this restaurant more in the past few months, than I think I ever have. Not sure why... just has ended up that way. The food has been good... the service, not so much. I was with a group, two of us arrived and two were late, so we were seated and the waitress was very awkward, and seemed annoyed by us. We ended up ordering before the rest of the party arrived, so we werent just sitting at a table wasting space. The others ordered as they arrived. Another time I was with a group of 4 adults and two children and our waitress asked if we needed a few more minutes, we said yes. She came back after 20 minutes... way longer than anyone needed to decide. We had asked for boxes for our leftovers 5 different times... so as I said, just not the best service.

This is a pretty good BJ's. I think it tends to be slightly less busy than the BJ's in Tustin/Irvine, so you might have less wait time. The food and service is pretty much the same across both locations, so no real difference there. BJ's used to be our go-to place for big group dinners, but we've kind of gotten over it recently. They only take reservations for 12 people or more, and if you do have that big a party, you're usually seated outside and in my experience, the service has been pretty average/below-average out there. You might have two waiters serving you, but they tend to avoid checking on big parties and it takes a long time to get their attention if you need something. If your party is less than 12, I think you can find a better place for your dinner. We came here on a Wednesday night with 7 people and were told that it was about a 45 minute wait, but it ended up only taking 20 minutes, which was nice. Unfortunately, we were squeezed into a booth that is really made for 4 people so we were kind of cramped and uncomfortable the entire night. I'm not really sure why they thought 7 people could fit into a 4-people booth, so watch out for that. The food is always the same at BJ's - good selection of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, salads and entree dishes. The food is good, but tends to be high in salt and calories. Portion sizes are pretty big, so you might want to get a dish and share or else save half for later. I've always been a fan of their pizzas - I usually get the Classic Combo w/ pepperoni, sausage & mushrooms, or the BBQ Chicken Pizza w/ BBQ sauce, red onions, tomatos, cilantro and BBQ chicken. For pasta, I've tried the Grilled Chicken Pasta, which is good but really it's just your typical pasta you can find anywhere. They have some good lunch specials that are much more affordable, so if you can find time to go during lunch, I'd recommend that. Recently, they have a new section on their menu called "EnLIGHTened Entrees" with dishes all under 575 calories. I've been experimenting more with this menu and so far I like what I've tried! I've tried the Mediterranean Vegetable Pasta, which comes with roasted vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, capers and Kalamata olives and is topped with pine nuts, basil, Parmesan cheese and parsley. It's a nice, light combination that fills you up. I've also tried the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi which is served with roasted pineapple fried rice, snow peas, red bell peppers and sesame seeds. I am definitely a fan of the Mahi Mahi - perfect portion size, great mix of flavors, and the fish is delicious! It was a little dry but it still tasted really good, and I left feeling a lot better than my friends who ate 1,500 calorie burgers. Of course they're known for their pizookies, so don't leave without getting one for dessert. My favorite is the oreo cookie or oatmeal raisin pizookie.

A very sloppy experience. I am very sad to write this review. Raw chicken with blood showing through. Then they served us raw doughy pizza to replace the raw chicken. This place is not going to last unless they make major changes. I used to really enjoy eating at BJ's. not any more. I will never go back there.

I am writing this purely based on the service. I have never felt so rushed to get out of a restaurant. Our server Salina was so aggressive and was basically going up to her tables kicking them out as soon as it became midnight. My boyfriend and I arrived at 11:15. Our server took about 15min to bring us our water. My bf and I got salads to start and told our server we would order more after we decided. The food was great but at 11:45pm after our server being MIA she comes up and says the kitchen is closing and it's last call for food. I totally understand I work in a restaurant too. So my bf and I ordered a medium pizza. Salina told us that two mini pizzas were the same as a medium. So we got two minis and ordered a pizookie for after our pizza. Our pizookie came out before our pizzas. We asked if they could just keep it in the kitchen for a few minutes until the pizzas came. Salina told us no cause it's last call even though other tables were still ordering food around us. It was so rude. We got our pizzas after being forced to eat dessert before dinner. It was rediculous. I hope I never get this server again. I've never been so rushed before.

Food was good, pizza a little dry doughy, but not bad with ranch. Place is very noisy, & busy for a week day evening. Service was pleasant but slow, had to ask for refills several times. If you want some beer & munchies with your buddies not a bad place, party atmosphere! Not so hot for a date, parents, kids or quite relaxing meal out!

My family loves this place! Pazooki's yum!! Enough about dessert, the staff here are great. We had Taylor on June 12,, she is very personable and attentive. No matter what happens (she dropped a drink), the staff makes the best of it and remains professional, even after she dropped the drink, she jokingly asked if we saw it, and let us know it would be a few minutes before she returned as she was soaked. She never appeared frazzled or embarrassed she just took it all in stride and continued! Awesome staff and food!!

Well new Menu. Prices up about %10. This place is doing the same as Gordon Biersch did. Just nickel and dime till you kill the business. Portions get smaller and smaller. Eventually it just ends. I give it a year and it's closed.

We went for dinner and I asked for a chicken plate with no gravy, the waiter asked if it could go on the side I said please but when I got my plate it had gravy all over the chicken. We asked for the kitchup when we got our plates but we had to ask the waiter for the kitchup when he drove by, never asked how we were enjoying our food or refills on the cokes. When our check came he asked if we wanted a box for the left overs I told him no since my food had gravy all over, he said sorry and left the check. That was our first time and our last time we will visit BJs.

My wife and I came here on a Tuesday for dinner. After about 2 minutes of sitting, we were sat at our table...Given the menu, few minutes later our waitress came back and we gave our drink orders. About 10 minutes went by before our waitress came back to inform us that the drinks will be ready soon. No big deal. She finally brought our drinks out and gotten or meal orders. The food came out about another 15-20 mins later. My wife's Texas style chicken fried steak was bland with little country gravy. My parmesan crusted chicken was a little above average, better compared to my wife's dinner. Overall not satisfied with the slow service, specially being on a Tuesday (I can understand if it was a holiday or the weekend) or the food. Maybe we came on a bad day or had a bad cook...but this place wouldn't be my first choice of restaurants Don't expect to have a quick meal here...or even drinks...

I always sit at the bar area and there are two specific gentlemen that we always happen to get. They are rude. Brief. They dont care to ask if ur okay. Or if u need anything else. They dont refill ur water. Man just the worst service ever. And i get it its the bar area. But half the time all the guys r together in a group just talking. And they're not busy. So there is no excuse. I even told them one day that it was my mans bday and i wanted it to be a surprise and the server totally forgot to do anything. I was so disappointed. The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because they have one blonde girl that works in the bar area and she will take care of you. We've only had her once. And she was awesome. The food is okay. Not great. But they are large enough portions to share with someone.

This is the worst service I have EVER had. I don't drink, but the host asked if I wanted to sit at the bar since I was alone, and it made since so that I wouldn't take a whole table for myself. I first got there and I sat down I did get greeted right away, I think what went wrong was when I asked for a "none alcoholic" drink. Bartenders need to have a good knowledge of a few of theses in there bag. I told her to make whatever be creative. She comes back to me with a frozen drink with a big piece of pineapple and whip cream, my first thought was I should have been more s specific when I ordered, second this was a big slap in my face. It's cold out for one and I'm clearly not a girly guy, but since I don't drink alcohol I guess this is what I get! So moving on I ask for a menu, my whole purpose for coming there, did I mention I'm a first time guest?! , sorry It slipped my mind. Anyway I try to order an app three people walk by me with my menu in front of me for at least 10-12 mins I know this because that's how much time the game had left. And I know to watch the time when I'm noticing that service is lacking. I finally get some attention from a tender and she took the order, food came out and when it hit the table I placed my dinner order, the Flatbread was good, by the time I finished 5-8 mins later my dinner was in front of me. This is when I could not believe the service. I was never asked how was the food while eating, never offered salt and pepper, and NEVER asked for a refill on my drink, or offered water!! . I ate my entire dinner without one sip of a drink! Wow. It seems that the tenders knew what they were doing because I heard one say" She don't care if I don't get anything" and that's exactly what I left for a tip Nothing! Places like this can be great, but can also fall short. The bar was not packed and I can see why a Friday night at 9 pm?!! Late night should have a draw, but with service like this well I see why the bar is empty early. Ps. Doing side work at 9 pm and not giving guest or should I say me the proper attention probably lead to this review. BJ's I wish u well. But you will never get a hard earned buck from me again! Pas. Where is the manager walking doing table touches? Haven't seen that person all night. A hour and a half of hell. At this place

For my birthday lunch, my coworkers took me here... food was decent but the best part? Free pizookie on your birthday! Oh, and on this particular day a couple of hot firemen walked by us a few times. Oh happy birthday to me.

I am not one for deep dish pizza (which is BJ's specialty), so I've always frowned about this restaurant when my husband suggested we come here. This time I asked for a flatbread pizza and it was great! This restaurant has moved up on my list for the mere fact that they have options. My husband loves deep dish, and I love flatbread! Now we're both happy!.

We frequently visit this restaurant and the service and food are always great. However, during our past two visits the service has been TERRIBLE. The past two visits Ryan has been our server. He chooses not to write down orders which resulted in our food coming out incorrect during our visit a couple weeks ago. During tonights visit, he again chose not to write down the order and in a panic to get our rather lengthy order in the computer, he completely forgot to take my order (who happened to be the only pregnant female at the table). Miraculously our food came out correct, but refills and parmesan/pepper were never brought. After requesting cheese and peppers from Ryan, it was never delivered and I had to get up and ask the bartender for assistance. Ryan then asked if we wanted dessert in the middle of our meal, he then dropped the check without asking if we wanted any more beers. Once we ordered another beer, we waited a few minutes and the check with the charged beer was brought without the beer, We watched for 15 minutes as countless beers passed by our table and while Ryan continued to take care of other tables. We flagged him down to cancel the beer which he replied, "yeuh"(not sure what that means). We then left the empty checkbook at the end of the table and Ryan asked if we wanted to split it down the middle. I was confused because we didn't receive a revised check. He then brought us THE SAME EXACT CHECK charged with the beer we never received. I immediately flagged him down and asked for the correct check, which we then received our first apology during our visit. Finally received the correct check and paid out. Extremely disappointed in the lack of attentiveness. All of us work in the industry, service of this caliber should not be tolerated. I will return in the future, but I refuse to be waited on by Ryan.

PIZOOKIE. Everything is delicious. Everything. Their white cheddar mashed potatoes are the best mashed potatoes I've ever had in my life, and I'm a potato fanatic. Piz00kie. It's usually pretty busy, you might have to wait a while for a seat on a weekend evening, and they always have whatever big sports game is on on their many many big screen tvs, but the atmosphere is fun. and everything I've ever tried on the menu has been amazing. nay, LEGENDARY. and also... pizookie.

I went to BJ's with a large party again. This time I got the shrimp tacos. YUM! If you're not in the mood for pizza or a salad, try the tacos. Delicious!

Food is good. Atmosphere is good. Our waiter was good. we go there often. The lady who brought the pizza this time wasn't friendly at all and the manager was also a disappointment. I will go there again because I like the beer and the atmosphere but will keep my expectations at lowest for the service.

Tonight, we went out to celebrate our wedding anniversary & ate at BJ's pizza because we've always enjoyed eating there on a regular basis. We waited at our table for over 15 minutes before we had any type of service. We finally called someone over to take our order. When our pizza arrived, it didn't even look like the pizza that we normally order (BJ's favorite). We asked the manager who walked by if that was the pizza we ordered and she said that it was BJ's favorite. We showed the manager that our pizza had some spicy buffalo style chicken on it, which was not on the BJ's favorite ingredients. The manager said that we could get a different type of pizza if we wanted to exchange it. She did not apologize that the wrong ingredient was on our pizza and she did not seem to care. What if someone at our table was allergic to chicken?? We ended up just eating the pizza, which was dry and burnt on the bottom. Honestly, Dominos Pizza tastes better than this pizza did, but Dominos would be a lot cheaper. We were so disappointed that one of our favorite restaurants was so horrible tonight. Throughout the meal, the server was nice, but practically forgot about us for lengthy periods of time. At the end of dinner, we spoke to the manager and explained that we rarely ever complain about anything, but the meal was so below standard that we vowed never to eat there again. The manager did not seem to genuinely care at all. She did not offer any empathy at all. She said that she would talk to the people in the kitchen, but we saw her walk the other way. We were so disappointed, because we eat at this restaurant every few weeks. We were not given any discount or anything to compensate us for the horrible meal. This restaurant has gone downhill.

This is a brewhouse but my 8 year old nephew of all people recommended to me. So I took my sister and her family to celebrate my new job. And it turned out to be a very nice place for family, friends, or a date. Food was good and affordable - very generous portions. Atmosphere was open and lively, but not noisy. Service was good. I'm not a serious beer drinker, but I enjoyed a Hefeweizen - very fruity and light, with a little foam. It worked well with the deep dish pizza and champaign shrimp pasta. I had to pack food home. Oh, my sister ordered a very good New York Steak but the highlight was the huge baked potato - a size of a little guinea pig! All the food was well prepared. I would defenitely come back to try other menu items and recommend BJ's.

I like this place, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I simply love their deep dish pizza, oozing with cheese and topped with chopped roma tomatoes. First time at this location, and the food was good. The service was passable. We ordered chips & salsa to start - nice fire-roasted taste in the salsa. A few of the chips were on the salty side. Main course: Make-your-own pizza topped with italian sausage, applewood-smoked bacon and green peppers. Simply awesome.

Okay so I went to BJ at Laguna Hills and it was was the worst experince in my life. I have been here once in the past and it was horrible hair in my food and dealt with a rude manager at this one so I never come here, but my girlfriends just got off work so it was close. We were seated right away so I thought it was a good sign of fast service. Once we sat down it went terrible our waitress (Kelly) took forever. We order right away and it took them 45 minutes to give us our food! Before we got our food I kept asking for a refill and recieved it at the end of our meal. Let's talk about the food. MY food was horrible I order deep dish pizza, well I thought when I saw it, it was burnt and looked like crap, but I thought hey I'll just try it. Gross! Then I started picking at my son food and his chicken tenders were like rubber. You guys shouln't be feeding kids that kind of stuff. The waitress came back and asked how our food was I told her (and I am not proud of this comment, but I was piss) Its fucking disgusting. She said nothing then left and helped the table behind us and I heard her and them saying that they were having problems also. She came back probably 10 minutes with the check. We asked earlier that it would be split three ways. which kelly couldn't, but she did tell me she wasn't gong to charge me for the pizza I took one bite of! BUT she did charge me for my sons soda even though he got a kids meal. So I walked up to the front sick of waiting I was there for a hour already with crap food and service. So I told the hostess (chanel I believe) I need her to split the bill and she said to go back to the table she couldn't do anything. I said look I have been here for a hour and I am so over this place I just want to leave. SHE THEN ROLLED HER EYES! I almosted fainted! Never in my life have I been so disrespected! She then said she was going to tell our waitress which she did, but before she left she told the guy I do not get paid enough and I cant deal with this and left. 20 minutes later our waitress came and divide the bill. You guys are lucky we didnt just walk out and trust me I was thinking about it. NEVER again would I eat here you couldn't pay me enough! I also after this visit I went on yelp to provide my input and saw that this place is known for terrible service! by the way I ask to speak to a manger he or she never came to talk to me! This place sucks never again

BJ's. Another one of those places that can please the whole fam and all the extensions (hubby, girlfriends, buddies, etc.). We make a trip to this location once a visit to get the whole group of us at the same table enjoying the family favorite, pizza. Every Friday night was and still is pizza night in my family. Unfortunately my palate has expanded and my Friday nights are searching for new and undiscovered cuisine besides pizza. But it always has that place in my heart. The wait can be long here but even with a minimum group of 8, I don't think we've ever waited more than 20 minutes, which I expect on a weekend at a place that doesn't take reservations. The best part of the wait is they bring out sample pizza slices, just lets you know what you're waiting for. Brillant! The pizza here is consistent and probably my favorite form of thick crusted pizza. The beer selection is great and I love the pale ale, nice and hoppy! You gotta love a place that serves its own brand of brew, and is good to boot. The TVs are always tuned to several different games, which is great for my sports loving family. The Pizookies are amazing and nothing fills my sweet tooth like a warm chocolate chip cookie smothered in ice cream. Hopefully we will get one closer than Napa in the Bay Area.

Another work lunch, and the birthday girl chose BJ's. I've been to this location before, and wassn't thrilled or grossed out. So it was an okay choice with me! It's a very large building, that is for sure. Although we had a large party, we were seated quickly, which is nice for lunchtime. Our server took drink orders quickly as well. We ordered several appetizers to start: buffalo wings, the appetizer combo, and avocado eggrolls. I really liked the eggrolls. They were very similiar to the Cheesecake Factory's version, but not as ginormous. The buffalo wings were different. They weren't tossed in hot sauce, just fried with a little drizzle on top. Good, but greasy. I ordered the calzone for lunch. I chose sausage and onions as my two filling choices, and I was happy I did. It was a pretty large calzone, and was perfect! If you've ever had BJ's deep dish pizza, you know how good the crust is. They used the same crust for my calzone. Very yummy. All in all, BJ's was a decent lunch spot.

My review based on 4 visits to this location. Three of the visit were during lunch and one visit for breakfast/brunch in the weekend. Three of the 4 times, the service was very good. And one visit was kind of poor. The service in the last visit was good. That is for the service. I am not drinker so I cannot rate their drinks. The food was good every visit, but it was not great. The portions are good size here. The prices are in the cheaper side considering the portion size.

I was a huge fan of BJs but my experience at this location has deterred me from ever coming back. I ordered a pizza over the phone for take out, the person who took my order never gave me the price so assumed it was the usual $25 for a 4+ topping pizza. When I arrived to pick up my pizza, the total came out to me a whomping $48, for a large pizza with several toppings. I kindly asked why the total was so high because I normally purchase the same pizza dine-in for half the price! The manager came out looked at me and asked the hostess if I spoke English. I told him, YES I speak English and I just wanted to know if the prices have changed. He ignored me and told the hostess that he did not understand what I was saying and that she should go over the menu with me. The hostess told him that I did indeed speak English and that I just wanted to know when the price for the pizza had changed. He looked at me, handed me a menu and told me to go home and compare the menu with the one that I had at home and then I can figure out the price difference. NEVER have i felt so humiliated. YES, I should have asked for the price immediately after I placed my order to avoid any discrepancies. But isn't it the manager's job to answer any questions or concerns a customer may have? Without the customer, there would be no business. Maybe he was having a rough day, but there is absolutely no excuse to belittle let a lone discriminate a customer based on their proficiency in the English language.

I love BJ's. One of my go to places. On any given Friday night, I'll ask my husband, "What do you want to do, go to BJ's?" and the answer is always a resounding yes. I haven't had anything on the menu that's bad however some of my favorites are the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Wedge Salad. Surprisingly, this place also has some pretty good chips and salsa. And of course, the pizzoki is a must! (Maybe not every time, its pretty rich) Love how this place is one of the few places in South Orange County open late. God forbid, you get hungry after its actually dark, you're SOL. (I'm exaggerating but honestly, not by much) I love all the TV screens in the place so I know we can always see a Dodger or Laker game even though if you're not sitting in the bar, odds are you'll be squinting to see the score. Quick note though, I'd stick to their own beer here. Although they have a full bar and other beers they can be pretty expensive ($9 for a tiny glass of framboise?!?!?!) or just plain weird ("sangria" which did not contain wine or fruit, uh, what?).

Haven't been here since Oct. might have been my last time. My husband and I used to spent most of our Friday night here but decided to cut back due to the$ we were spending. For the most part, we liked the food but it seems to have gotten a little less satisfying, hit and miss. When we went there in October the service was bad. We had a server that was training the other. During the service I would say I wasn't sure who was gaining who. I got my regular selection. BBQ Chicken salad, there was some kind of problem, because I ordered half a salad. I guess they don't like you doing that when it's not lunch time. Anyway, it wasn't good. Two of the family members I was with had to go to the bar to get another beer as the servers were not coming back to check on us. They have opened a new BJ's in RSM, might give it a try.

Food is always very good and great selection from full bar. Several really good low calorie choices. The only bad part is when you try to be seated. I have been there when there is no wait and there are very few customers and there will be 6 or 7 employees cluttered at the reception area talking amongst themselves. They will take my name, ask us to wait, finish their conversation and then seat us. This has happened several times. It is less than professional but the food is good enough that I let it slide.

Big portions for food. The PAZOOKIE (semi-baked cookie with ice cream) came to our table sizzling hot with ice cream. Buffalo pizza was OH HELL YEA (according to one of the Yelper's ratings :P

This review really isn't about the food, because its consistently good at any BJs restaurant, it's about the service at this particular location. My friends and I arrive at 5:45 and the place is pretty much empty, at least for BJs. We order drinks and appetizers and then the waiting begins. It takes at least 10 mins to get us 3 beers and a glass of wine. After that we get to wait forever for our pizza without being asked if we wanted more to drink. Our friends' personal pizzas get to the table and then my BF and I get to wait 15 more mins for our's while our friends is getting cold. We put in an order for two pizookies and then get to wait over 20 mins for those. By this time it's past 7 and we are late for a movie. Right as I'm asking our waitress for them to be cancelled and for our bill they arrive, she runs off gets our check and then takes ten more mins to run the cards. At this point I'm talking to the manager who apologetically says he will take care of it and when I pointed out our table with the guys still at it waiting for our bill, he goes off toward them only to walk right past and not do a dang thing. If it wasn't for the great company and good pizza it would have been a truly awful experience. I have never felt so neglected at a restaurant before, definitely not worth the $100 bill.

BJ's is BJ's, let's be honest -- it's been an Orange County staple for as long as I can remember. Driving all the way up to Huntington Beach, putting up with the long wait in Laguna Beach, suffering through the incompetence of Tustin Marketplace -- for as long as I've lived in Southern California, BJ's has been a basic part of my foodie life. Deep dish 'Chicago-style' pizza! Awesomely concocted salads! Great big giant portions of everything else! Cool deals on happy hour! (And once I got old enough, ahem) Decent beer selections! So I'm not really here to write too much on the food. I came here the other day with some co-workers for lunch and we feasted on the typical lunch specials -- one lady got half sandwich and soup, the other lady got a half baked potato (which, again, was HUMONGOUS) and soup, and I pigged out with a soup, salad, mini pizza AND a Jerry Burst (half Jeremiah red and half Berry Burst Cider -- it's yummy). Afterward we indulged in a half choc chip-half white choc mac nut Pizookie. Yums. The food was brought out in a timely manner and everything was hot, fresh, and, most importantly, correct! However, I DO want to focus on the highlight of our experience -- our server, Josh. I mean come on -- it's about a three-quarters full house, it's lunch time, and you don't have to be awesome at your job in order to get a pretty righteous tip. But Josh went above and beyond the standard 'lunch crowd' attitude. I mean he really took care of us -- always ready with refills, patient, accommodating, and all of this without breathing down our necks throughout the meal. What a kind and smart young man. I used to work as a server when I was in college and I remember constantly trying to find that magical balance between "God I hate my job and I hate serving people" and "Man I really need the money and the extra tippage right about now." Josh has certainly struck gold with his discovery of that balance. Seriously, throughout my years of patronizing BJ's, I can't say that I've ever had such an outstanding server. All the other stuff really stands out with BJ's -- clean restaurant, spacious and well-kept bathrooms, great bar area, yadda yadda yadda -- and always has. However, I wanted to use my Yelp time to sing Josh's praises. Great job sir!

I met up with a friend at the BJ's off El Toro road in California on a Sunday night. She had asked to sit at the bar, but it was full so the hostess sat her at a table. I arrived maybe three minutes later and as I am sitting down the waitress came to take our order. I asked for a few minutes since I have not even had a chance to open my menu. She comes by maybe three minutes later to take our drink and food order. We say that we are just there for a cocktail and we order our drink. When she returns she ask again what we are eating, we tell her again that we are just there for a drink. She says we must move to the bar, despite the fact that their are plenty of empty tables around us. We carry our own drinks to a table in the bar, and sit down. A girl comes by to say she is our new server and we never see her again. The original waitress served us the wrong beer, but after maybe about twenty minutes of trying to waive someone else down to get the correct one, we decide just to drink the beer we have. Orginially we planned on getting a couple of drinks, but since after being there for an hour we only since our waitress once, we decide just to get the check instead of another drink. My friend ask for a water with the check and like the service all night it takes her about ten minutes to bring it to us. My friend takes a sip of her water and spits out a huge piece of glass, she continues to fish out maybe five or six pieces of glass. She shows our waitress and all she says is, "oh sorry. Let me get you a new glass of water without glass in it", then kind of laughs. Not once did the manager come over and apologize. I think this kind of service is unacceptable and dangerous. I can't help but question what kind of health and sanction practice BJ's practices if they are not the least bit concerned that there is glass in the cups. I can only imagine taking a bite of your pizza and finding a bug in it. Would the waitress have said, "Oops must have fallen out of the trap?" I was a frequent visitor of BJ's but I will never be back again because of this experience.

Went back for the four-beer sampler. This time I picked the beers that I wanted. And, they were most excellent! For food this time around I had the pot roast sandwich. It was pretty good. Much better than their supposed Chicago-style pizzas (deep dish pizza is for tourists). My wife had the sashima appetizer. She liked it. Since she's Okinawan, that's no mean feat. At first the beer drew me in. Now, I'm looking forward to trying something else on the menu.

Nothing like rewarding youself with pizza and beer after an 8 hour hike! I forget how pleasantly dark and casual this place is, even with those incessant televisions everywhere. Their deep dish is always crusty-buttery good. (Meatball, mushroom, black olive and jalapeno - yum!) We shared pitchers of pale ale, then the porter. Both very good brews. The peanut butter pizookie was tasty, but smaller than I remembered. Wish I could remember our waiter's name, because he did an excellent job. I think this is my favorite BJ's in the area. Laguna is too tiny. Tustin has rude staff. Laguna Hills BJ's, you're still just right!

Visited a friend in Laguna and she decided to take me here for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to get delicious deep dish somewhere outside of Chicago! We shared the BBQ chicken pizza. I was a little skeptical because I usually don't like BBQ pizza since the sauce overwhelms the pizza and it ends up not tasting like pizza anymore... however this wasn't like that. There was a light coating of BBQ sauce underneath fresh tomatoes/sauce and cheese, so it still tasted like pizza, but had a sweet flavor beneath it. Also had the Baked Beignet dessert which was delicious! Cinnamon sugar fried dough topped with ice cream, strawberries, and whipped cream... perfect end to the meal!

We had our engagement party at this BJs. We made the reservation for 830 pm and were told we would have access to our tables about 10-15 minutes prior to our reservation time. When we arrived nothing was ready and/or cleaned. We had about 40 guests and half of them had arrived by 845 and we still were not seated. The manager FINALLY got us to our tables and one of the large main tables was still dirty and covered in dirty dishes from a previous party. We had to decorate the area in front of half of our guests. Once the tables were cleaned up and the party actually started (food arrived and drink orders going) everything was awesome. Everybody loved the food and the servers were great. If you hold a large party at this BJs I HIGHLY recommend booking the site 30 minutes before you actually want people to arrive. There are other large parties before yours and they do not ask them to leave even though they have a 2 hour time-frame. The manager was a moron, but the staff, food, and service (after initial problem) was AWESOME!!

This particular BJ's is very convenient if you come with a party or group of more than 6. The place looks like its built to accommodate large families or parties and I am a really big fan of the large booths that are available, so everyone seats comfortably. I recommend ordering their huge appetizers because they can suffice many with the munchies. I would list all the good appetizers that we ordered when I was there, but we ordered like 6 appetizers then got a huge pizza. Everyone says the pizza is amazing, but the pizza is "aaa'ight." I also recommend getting their house brewed beer (just ask what's recommended to whoever is serving your table). Their bar is nicely placed in the middle of the place. There's plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game(s). What you really come to BJ's for is for their Pazookies. You definitely have to order one if you come. For those who are unsure of the Pazooki dessert; basically a freshly baked giant cookie in a pan with scoops of ice cream on top. You can choose from an array of cookies as well. We as group got the largest sized Pazooki, half chocolate chip, half macadamian, and vanilla ice cream to top it off. Damn, I want one now.

I went here for my 21st birthday. It was delicious. The pizza is thick crust panned pizza(served in a pan)so if you like thin crust you wont like the pizza here . Also I had the margaritas here. They were really strong. It might have just been the times I went, but after my birthday I went again and got another and 2 made me tipsy, so its stronger than most places I have gotten them including Mexican restaurants.Like I said I don't know if I got lucky.. The service is usually pretty good too. The only argument I would have is there pizza doesn't have much if any sauce. Also the pizookies are really good. It basically like a big cookie served in a pan. I really enjoy the chocolate chip and the Oreo ones.(Oreo one tastes like a big brownie) Enjoy!!

This is a huge building, so even if it is crowded , it doesn't really feel like it. Everything that we tried on the menu was good and we all had very different tastes. I don't know if I even have enough words for Pizookies....let's see, warm creamy, sweet, but not too rich, delicious, melts in your mouth....kind of like chocolate chip cookies warm from the oven, but since it's served in a dish that keeps it warm, the experience lasts for the whole dessert. Needless to say, the food is good, but it's just a filler to get to dessert!

ok, maybe i am a little biased because i am vegan and not 21. still, i have no mercy for places that leave me with ONE VEGAN OPTION. yeah, the angel hair pasta with no dairy is alright, i guess. but for $10? i'm still wondering if the fries are vegan... they look like they are super battered up. get with the times, BJ's, and appeal to tha fuckin' masses. or at least serve me a beer. jesus christ.

This place is great for happy hour...period. Usually go with one other person and after a few drinks and some appetizers and maybe a mini pizza to share the bill comes out to $30 max. I'm not really a fan of there pizza...I've tried their new ones like the mediteranean pizza and the cheeseburger and let me just say that I'll just stick to the BJ's favorite from now on. Not into the non traditional topping pizzas. Now I completely stopped ordering the pizza and just order the appetizers....that basil and sausage appertizer pizza thing is THE BEST appetizer on the menu...haven't tried the pesto something but I'm sure it's good too.... I had the avocade eggroll thing before and remember that was pretty damn good. Anyways I usually eat and chill at the bar area since it's happy hour. The wait staff is friendly and comes by often enough that my drink is never empty. The bar guy Chris is really down to earth and cool. Whenever I get the chance I sit and chat with him and shoot the shiz. Happy eating.

Really bad service here. Asked for a booster seat for my kid, they forgot the request. Asked for Mac and cheese for my kid and to bring the dish out first and they forgot about it and brought it last. Never asked if we wanted a refill, never offered ketchup for my fries. Waiter had to end his shift so we waited a long time to get the bill and 5-10 minutes to get my credit card back! What's going on with you guys? Do you have a bad manager? Get you stuff together!!
